The students of our university put in their hard work a long time before the event is

supposed to commence just so that we can make this particular event special for

you. The event has various modules designed for students. Brain Wrecker, Dig &

Drill and interactive session on environment will help the students explore their

creativity. This year, we are working on modules in collaboration with various

industries. Our goal is to give all the students of Pakistan an equal opportunity to

learn, compete and win the competition and at the same time take advantage of

the conferences and workshops arranged for them.

Participants will also be introduced to crisis scenarios, designing and different

laboratory processes. We would be obliged if you accept our invitation and be a part

of this big event in GIKI. Registrations and Event details are attached.

    Brief Description of the Event

Following Modules are being organized by AIChE-GIKI Chapter for Chembuzz15:

    1. Rapid Fire Round

    2. Technical Presentation

    3. Scenario studies

    4. Workshop & Seminars

    Technical Presentation

Chemical engineers are the backbone of any chemical industry. The technical

knowledge they have is very important for any industry to progress. In order to

polish your technical knowledge we have arranged a session of technical

presentation. You will be given a topic and 45 minutes with access to internet

after which you will be required to give 5min presentation. These presentations

will be followed by discussions which will further clarify any ambiguity in your

    minds.

    Scenario Studies

In the Scenario Round, all the teams will be given envelopes containing case

studies of real life chemical hazards in different parts of the world. Being

chemical engineers these teams would be required to get down to the bottom

of these cases. How and why these events occurred, who is responsible and

how the havoc can be possibly tackled as a chemical engineer. The teams will

also be asked to make short technical poster design reflecting their innovation

on the nature of these occurrences. The participants will be given a time frame

    of 75 minutes approximately.

    Rapid fire round

This round would be the most anxious of all the other modules which could

make or break the results of the tournament. Each team will be given two

rounds to answer the maximum questions in a specific time constraint. The

teams will be penalized for each wrong answer. The questions will be mostly

related to short video clips, visual identification of scientists and basic chemical

engineering related questions i.e heat transfer, mass transfer, fluid mechanics

and much more so start preparing yourselves to test your basic chemical

    concepts.

    Seminar series

Seminar series will cover a variety of other topics which will be announced later

depending on the availability of the speakers. Keep visiting our facebook page

    BIOMATERIALS:

Biomaterials have been used since antiquity, but recently their degree of

sophistication has increased significantly. Biomaterials made today are

extremely information rich and incorporate biologically active components

derived from future. In the future, biomaterials will assume an even greater

role in medicine and will find use in an extensive variety of non-medical

applications through biologically inspired design and incorporation of dynamic

    behavior.

Dr. Javed Rabbani has been serving this country in the field of Chemical

engineering for past 40 years. After serving in UET Lahore and NFC Faisalabad,

he is now a Professor at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences

and Technology. He will enlighten you with his precious knowledge about

    Biomaterials.

  • Liaison Heads: https://www.facebook.com/aichegiki Anas Naseem [email protected] (03328088991)

These sessions would highlight Strategies for Bio-Technology Development in

Developing Country, Industrial Applications and strength For Bio Tech

Products, and Economical analysis of conventional and Bio-Products.

    Social Events

We all have often heard of this famous saying "All work and no play makes jack

a dull boy." So to make the best use of the free time, kill the monotony of the

competition, work and information sessions, make you feel comfortable and

have a splendid time at the event we have organized some social events here

in GIKI. Some of the social events are described below: Concert: Music has

always been a source of joy and happiness for all of the people for many years.

Pakistan has a rich culture of classical, rock and pop music. Continuing our

tradition, we have asked a very reputed famous band to come and perform in

our campus which sure shall be a moment of joy for our participants and will

be disclosed at the time of the event.

    Dig and Drill

In this module we will test the analytical and technical skills of the participants

through a marathon. This is also a test of intelligence. Focused on the team

building and leadership skills of the participants, this will help them develop

qualities pivotal for success throughout their lives while having a lot of fun.

The scavenger hunt will be a balance of different types of intelligent and

    knowledge tests.

The tests will comprise of questions, riddles, and puzzles and solving them will
