The Mission
The Right Productions inc. uses our skills and abilities to provide entertaining and thought provoking experiences for people around the world. We will continue our family legacy of creating businesses and opportunities that enhance and uplift our community. We continu-ously strive for excellence in our service delivery and business operations. We adapt to the every changing industry by staying abreast of new technology and constructive developments within the entertainment field.

The Right Productions provides entertainment booking, production, stage lighting, sound reinforcement, stage management, crew facility management and marketing services needed for major events and venues. Founded in 1996, the company is now a significant source for entertainment and special events services in Detroit and has expanded services into North Carolina.
In 1999 the MGM Grand Detroit Casino selected the company as its vendor for entertainment services. The company continues to serve MGM in this capacity as a Licensed Supplier, providing performers and production services. The Right Productions has also provided entertainment bookings at the Greektown Casino.
In 2004, the City of Detroit awarded to The Right Productions the contract to manage and operate the 6,000 seat Chene Park Amphitheatre. The company books, promotes and produces around 40 events per season. In addition to producing the shows, the company is responsible for all concessions, security, parking, grounds and maintenance at Chene Park.
in 2007 the City exercised its option for a three-year extension of the original contract. In 2010, The Right Productions, Inc. successfully secured a new contract through 2014 with an additional option through 2019.

ThecompanydrawsupontheextensivebackgroundofitsPresident,ShahidaMausi-Johnson,whohascreatedmanysuccessfulandenduringeventsinDetroit’sculturalandentertainmenthistory.WhileservingastheDirectoroftheCityofDetroitCounciloftheArts,Mrs.Mausi-JohnsoninitiatedtheJazzseriesatCheneParkfrom1984-1986.Herof-ficeprogrammedthefacilityforthreeseasons,demonstratingtheviabilityoftheparkasanimportantpartofDetroit’scultural life, setting record attendance of nearly 6000 with such acts as Wynton Marsalis and the late Carmen McCrae. She is the creator of the Gallery Crawl, a marketing event created to promote visibility and sales for Detroit art galleries that has continued and grown for over twenty years.
Shahida Mausi was the Executive Producer for Amandla Mandela at Tiger Stadium. This was the first concert stadium eventproducedinDetroitandfeaturedperformancesbyStevieWonder,ArethaFranklin,MazewithFrankieBeverlyand many others. She initiated the African World Festival, bringing in the Museum of African American History. She programmed the first African World Festivals from her office. These events set attendance records for festivals at Hart PlazanotsurpasseduntiltheinceptionofDetroit’sElectronicMusicFestival.

SulaimanMausi’snameissynonymouswithcutting-edge,excellenceintheentertainmentpromotionsindustry.HehascontinuedtobringawarenessandappreciationofqualityentertainmentinSoutheasternMichigan for over 10 years. His modern influence and fresh perspective were seen early in his career, when he served asMarketingCoordinatorfortheDetroitHistoricalMuseum,throughhisbrainchild“Techno:Detroit’sGifttotheWorld”,anexhibitin2003.UponleavingtheDetroitHistoricalSocietyandjoiningTheRightProductionsInc.,heassistedinsecuringtheproductionandvendorcontractfortherenowned“Movement:Detroit’sTechnoMusicFestivalfrom2004-2005.Sulaimanoverseesthebookingoftalent,assistswithmarketing,supervisesthesecuritycompany and many other roles in the day-to-day operation of Chene Park.
BusinessexpansionforTheRightProductionshasbeenhispriority.TRPhastakenflightthroughhisrecentnationalconcert tour dates in cities such as Charlotte, St. Louis, Raleigh and Durham. Malik MausiDirector of Operations of Chene ParkMalik has worked for TRP since 2000 and manages the box office, usher staff, security, medical. He is a music producer and recording engineer with valuable in-depth knowledge into production, artist relations and facility operations management.Hehasrepresentedboththevenueandtheartist.Since2003,Malikhasservedasroadmanager,stagemanager and sound engineer for multi-platinum artist, Najee, for tours in South Africa and throughout the United States.Hehasseensomeofthebestandworstpracticesinfacilities.ThismakeshimwellqualifiedtoheadtheOperations team at Chene Park.
Rashid MausiDirectorofBrandIntegrationsRashid has over ten years of experience in advertising, event marketing and branded entertainment. He has created awardwinningcampaignswhileworkingatGlobalHueDetroit,McCannWorldgroupNewYorkandBETNetworks.He recently established The Hyphen marketing-entertainment that produced and directed a film contest project for American Express during the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival. Now, he creates the TV advertising and sponsorship programs for Chene Park.
Residing in New York city, Rashid brings a dynamic range of skills and resources to The Right Productions, Inc. He is directing and producing a web series and possible TV show based on the realities of concert production with Sundiata O.M.-ProductionDirector-andthefamily.AsO.M.alwayssays,“There’snobusinesslikeCheneBusiness.”
Sundiata O.M. Production Director of Chene ParkSundiata OM is a legend in Detroit and well known in the business due to his four decades of experence in music production and live entertainment. He has managed every production at Chene Park since 2004. He has overseen the front-of-house monitors, sound, lighting and stage management at Chene Park and for major acts on tour all over the world. The production coordinators of the various acts often know Sundiata from his work with artists such as Ne-Yo, Aaliyah,Dwele,TheIsleyBrothersandGladysKnighttonameveryfew.
OM,isalsomusicianandmusicproducer.Heiswidelyrecognizedasthepioneeroflive“handdruming”withdj’s.He’sperformed with soul, funk and techno artists. This gives him an advantage in handling the various twists and challenges involved in making sure the show does go on.
