BACCN News Chest pain A main reason for many patients attending an emergency department is a presentation of chest pain. Assessing and recognizing those patients whose symptoms are suspicious of acute coronary syndromes require a number of clinical skills and application of current evidence. The National Institute for Clinical Effectiveness, in March 2010, published guidance on how to clinically assess patients with sudden onset of chest pain that includes risk assessment and management.
