Based on the play Chicago by Maurine Dallas Watkins, Chicago tells the story crime and corrup<on in 1920’s Chicago. Chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap…un<l he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ul<mately joining forces in search of the “American Dream”: fame, fortune, and acqui*al. This sharp-edged sa<re features a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse with a dazzling score by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb.
