    CHIEFS PRACTICE 1

    Date: Thursday, September 08, 2011

    Time: Start 6:00 p.m. Players Dismissed at 7:30 p.m.

    Practice Objectives: 1.Indoctrinate players on the Chiefs Way

    2. Evaluate each player Skills set and assign them to an offensive position group.

    3. Introduce basic offensive skills for each position group.

    Equipment: 4. 2 or more Regulation Footballs and Cones (per Coach Bill)

    Practice Dress: Tee Shirts, Shorts, Athletic socks, football shoes, jock strap.

    6:00-6:05

    6:05-6:15 Flex 20 Yard (Flex first Ten Yards, Long Slow Stride last ten) Course 5 squads

    Coach Bill Will Lead all coaches Use Tac (Teach, Assist and Counsel)

    Go on Ball Movement and Snap Count (coach them up but no Discipline at this point for

    mistakes just teach.

    Perform each Exercise down and back

    High Knees Butt Kickers (hands on butt and touch heels to hands Shuttle Face Right Shuttle face Left Back Pedal (Keep Shoulders over knees) Lung Walk Frankenstein (Touch Left toe to right fingers). Alternating vice versa. Sprint Speed Down and Full speed back

    6:15-6:35 Evaluations

    Three Stations

    Group 1 Times in 3 cone drill. Coach BillGroup 2 Pass Receiving with a coach throwing Coach Tommy

    Group 3 Center Snapping both under center and in the Gun (3 yards deep) Coach TJ

    Rotate groups as needed. Your Biggs (Oline) need not catch passes nor throw, likewise

    your Mids and Skills need not snap.

    6:35-6:40 H2O

    6:40-6:55 INDY Offensive Primary

    Group 1 QBs and Centers (Coco and Titus) Work on QB center Exchange. Coach Tommy

    Group 2 RBs and Receivers. Work on Hand Offs (Arm Closet to QB up and form a

    pocket), Catching the Football (use triangle method to cat passes directly at the rec and

    Pinkies together is rec has to run under the ball. and Ball Security after Receivinghandoff or Pass. (5 Point of Contact/Tight to body Fingers ion the nose)Coach Bill

    Group 3 Oline (non Centers) Stance (#3 Point stance Balance back Straight Stagger Heel

    to arch. and Starts (on Cadence) and Splits (ask Tommy what size spits we use in the

    Wild Cat Formation)

    6:55-7:00 H2O

    7:00-7:15 Team Offense Tommy will Lead TC Oline, Bill with RBs RECs

    Huddle and Wildcat Formation

    Huddle Integrity (must be perfect or do it again)

    Breaking the huddle and getting set (time them from the huddle break till they get set)

    Give them times to make.

    Stance Discipline. All players (especially Oline) must maintain stance Discipline until ball

    is snapped (build up there legs)

    7:15-7:20 H2O

    7:20-7:35 Conditioning

    ON THE LINE

    Three Squads Biggs

    Mids

    Skills

    Mark Off a course of 5/10 Yards

    1. 5/10 Suicides (touch the line with Different hand each time down/ example go 5 yards touchwith right hand go back and touch with Left hand). After second touch stay at that end.

    2. Crab 5 yards, pop up and sprint back 5 touch then sprint last 10.3. Shuffle 5/10 Suicides (same as Sprint Suicide)

    Repeat once (Every Player should Complete 6 Evolutions)

    Alternate going on snap count cadence and Ball movement. If they jump off sides OR DONT FIRE OFF

    Crab that unit for that evolution.

    7:35 Short Team meeting. Players take one knee and stay in front of the coach not behind his back.

    Recap what we learned.

    Formations, Ball Security, Cadence, QB/Center Exchange. Remind them of practice Monday at 6:00 pm.

    They are to always be 10 minutes early dressed and ready to go.
