Child abuse is the physical, sexual, and emotional

mistreatment or neglect of a

child.

Statistics:• Four children in the United States

die each day as a result of child abuse and neglect.

• Nearly 80% of children die as a result of abuse are younger than

five years old. • In 2008, child protective services

in the United States received 3.3 million reports of child abuse and

neglect.• Most children who suffer abuse or

neglect suffer at the hands of some one they know (parent,

guardian, or family friend)

Examples of Child Abuse

In 2003, Kaia Jackson was convicted of child abuse involving her son Jonathon over a

two-year period in Tulsa Oklahoma. In 2001, Jonathon told a forensic interviewer what

life was like in his house. According to court documents, Jonathon blamed his parents

for beating him regularly with “big boards, extension cords, belts and cable wires.”

Famous People AffectedOprah Winfrey was raped at age 9 and this continued and she became

pregnant through rape in her family at age 14. She gave birth to the child but the baby died.

My Point Of View

That child abuse is not correct thing to do. Not to a child that is innocent and to beat them to death or making them be scared. Child abuse can be death full. Kids can grow up like that and they can live with some one that beats them..
