Child Development Associate (CDA) Series & Renewal - ONLINE

In partnership with the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh, Westmoreland County

Community College is offering a series of courses that will fulfill the educational training

requirements for the infant-toddler, preschool, or renewal CDA credentials. The addi-

tional work experience, portfolio, and professional requirements required by the CDA

Council must be completed independently by the candidates.

ECE 190-CDA - Child Health, Safety & Nutrition - 8/15/2019—12/11/2019

Choose either 179 or 180:

ECE 179-CDA - Infant & Toddler Development - 1/9/2020—5/6/2020

ECE 180-CDA - Child Growth & Development - 1/9/2020—5/6/2020

ECE 191-CDA - Observation & Assessment - 5/18/2020—8/24/2020

Each course is 3 college credits and can be applied towards an Associate degree.

The initial certifications require 3 courses, while renewal requires 1 course. Tuition is

$210 per course and the textbook is $100. Rising STARS Tuition Assistance is accepted at

Westmoreland and can be used towards the cost of the courses.
