WHAT IS COMMUNICATION:
Generally speaking,communication may be
defined as the sending of signal from a source
to a receiver, it is often the case that the
receiver sends a signal back to the source.
STAGES OF CHILD ACQUISITION
Pre-speech Stage:
At first,infant starts
to cry to express
pain or hunger, then
he begins to pay
attention to all the
sounds around him.
Babbling Stage:
Around months,infant
begins to babble and
coo,tring to utter
different sounds and
puts vowels and
consonants together
to imitate speaking
such as ‘gaga’,’gou
gou’, ’ghuh’…
One Word Stage:
Child begins to develop
his first words by
using just one word
instead of whole
sentence like ‘Ball’ to
express ‘Give me the
ball’.
He also uses gestures
to communicate.
Early Grammar Stage:
At this stage, infant
can build sentences but
with his own grammar
rules and he uses
present simple or
confused past like: i
goed to granny instead
of i went to my
grandmather.
CONCLUSION The child is born with an instinct for a
language,so he acquires his mother tongue from
the speech heard at home and the overhearing
to the conversation of the others, that’s why
the parents have to talk with their infants.
