This program will prepare you to work with children from infancy through middle childhood in diverse learn-ing environments. You will combine theory and practice in actual settings with young children under the super-vision of qualified teachers.

Course work includes child growth and development, physical/nutritional needs of children, care and guid-ance of children and communication skills with parents and children. Students will foster the cognitive, lan-guage, physical, social, emotional and creative devel-opment of young children.

Upon completion, you will be prepared to plan and implement developmentally appropriate programs for children. Employment opportunities include child de-velopment and child care programs, preschools, public and private schools, recreational centers, Head Start programs, and school age programs.
