A Very Weird KidRicardo AlcántaraAlbert Asensio
Hardcover26,5 x 26,5 cm36 pagesAge: 5+
A beautiful picture about how parents are the self-esteem pillar of their kids
Pol is a “very weird” kid. This is what his classmate, Gustavo, thinks about him. He always tries to provoke him, but Pol always stays calm. “My dad is a magician,” he says. One day, in one of his ill-intentioned comments towards Pol, Gustavo succeeds in hurting his feelings, and Pol runs away crying. Then, Gustavo and his friends follow Pol to his house to discover what kind of magician his father is...Parents can teach you to respect others, to be assertive or to like yourself. That is the magic of Pol’s dad, understanding his son and giving him the positive reinforcement he needs. The illustrations provide great sensitivity and in-depht look at the story.

Ricardo Alcántara was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, but lives in Barcelona. He studied psychology in Brazil, and during his time in college, he realized he wanted his career to take another path. A newspaper advertisement about a children’s literature contest led him the way. That would be the start of a prolific and awarded career as a writer.

A story for a childhood free of labels!
A wicked wizard, an army of crows and labels that no one could take away.A story to end up with labels. Can you help us? If you think about it, during your childhood you were also given a label. And it’s very easy to put one on you but it’s hard to get rid of. Whatever the label may be, negative or positive, they do not define who we are. However, there still are adults who carry them all their whole lives.
NEW
Emma Piquer studied Advertising and Public Relations at the Blanquerna Faculty of Communication Sciences (Ramon Llull University). She has created advertising campaigns for major brands as a creative copywriter and has won several awards throughout her career at advertising festivals. She is passionate about social campaigns to make the world a better place, and she loves writing stories. After 15 years of experience and a lockdown, her first story The Label Factory was born. A dream come true for her two children.

Calle studied Fine Arts and a Professional Degree in Illustration. She really enjoys working with traditional techniques, especially watercolor and ink, because there is an uncontrollable part to the process.

A Real Story From Honduras
In Villa Nueva seems like sad stories abound. However, Monday is the most desired day: Nelson and Gerson go with their bookmobile and their stories make the kids go back home happy. The bookmobile is a vehicle equipped with books, tables, tents, chairs… but is much more than that. It is the entrance door to the narration universe, to fun, and an infinite world with plenty of possibilities. This is the story of Nelson, the bookmobile and, especially, of all the kids that stop to listen to their stories whenever they go.

Don Osito is a beautiful teddy bear is plein of history, poetry, tenderness and magic. He was born in a German factory and there it stayed until it was taken to a shop in Paris. One day the parents of Anna Maria and Salvador Dalí bought it and it became the siblings’ inseparable playmate. Years later Salvador Dalí invited a new friend of him, Federico García Lorca, to spend a couple of days in the Empordà. Was back then when Anna Maria and Lorca became great friends and they started exchanging letters in which he never forgot asking about the teddy bear and its family, and he named it Don Osito.

Joan Manuel Soldevilla was born in Barcelona in 1964 and lives in Figueres. He is a professor of Spanish language and literature in the town’s institute and a comic and mass communication specialist. He combines his teacher work with writing, curating and he carries out occasional collaborations in several media. However, if there is a facet that stands out is that he is a Tintin expert. Prove of that is the books he has written about the young Belgium journalist: Abecedari de Tintin and Univers Hergé.
Don Osito, a witnes of the life of Dalí’s family and Federico García Lorca.
Don Osito

PUES SI PUDIÉRAmOS HACER ESTO CON SEIS fOLIOS A LA vEz yA TENDRÍAmOS UN CACHITO DE CóRTEX LISTO PARA

CCEI ILLUSTRATION AWARD 2012 Honour ListSpain
PICTURE BOOKS
A delicate work of art, which incorporates games of perspective and comparing points of view of the same image. This book allows the main character, a tree that survives the destruction of a wood, to really shine through. Using the same innocent tone as the illustra-tions, some short texts tell the story of this strong little tree.
Miguel Ángel CuestaHis earliest memories always include pencils, markers and crayons. His drawings are always influenced by naive art. To date, he has published two picture books: Refrescos frescos de burbujas brujas, published by CEDMA, and Historia de un árbol. He still dreams, thinks, writes and illustrates children’s books with close help from his little son.

When we walk down the street we get the impression time is the same for everyone: for us, for the neighbour whose path we cross, for the inhabitants of Moscow or the rocks on Mars. However, more than a hundred years ago Albert Einstein realized that time does not unfold similarly everywhere and that is different depending on the speed at which we move. If we could travel almost at the speed of light, we would see that incredible things happen with space and time.
Start discovering the fascinating world of Relativity with the help of Dr. Albert, by the same authors as My first book of Quantum Physics. This is a perfect “first book” to explain seemingly complex issues such as dilation of time, contraction of lengths or increase in mass in a clear and simple way.
