Abrakadoodle*: Join us as we make festive monster bookmarks to take on your vacations! Appropriate for ages 3 & up.

Bill the Juggler: Comedy and juggling with lots of audience participation and an emphasis on reading!

Brodini Comedy Magic: High energy magic with lots of audience participation. Scarves, coins, cards, balls, ropes and ordinary items become animate objects of wonder with your help!

Bruce the Bug Guy: A lively, hands-on program about insects and arthropods (spiders, scorpions, millipedes). Live creatures and other fun props give audience members a unique opportunity to experience these often misunderstood creatures in a close-up, interactive manner.

Children’s Stories from India: Stories from mythology, folklore, history and classic fables of India! Interwoven into the cultural aspects of storytelling are a series of questions and clever riddles that encourage children to learn about geography, history and creative puzzle solving.

Choo Choo Bob & the Holy Smokestacks Review*: Join the cast from St. Paul’s favorite train store for a chugga chugga good time show!

Como Zoo:• Bug-a-Wocky: Learn all about why insects

and creepy crawlies are awesome in this bug-centric program by the Como Zoo.

• Journey Through Africa: Travel through the continent discovering plants and animals, learning to count in Swahili and exploring folklores. Participants will have the opportuni-ty to meet reptiles, small mammals and bugs.

Summer Performer Descriptions• Splashy, Flashy Frogs: Dive into the fasci-

nating (and sometimes noisy) world of frogs. We will trek through the swamp in search of the noisy little peeper. Participate in a “frog chorus” and learn about the difference between frogs and toads with live animals.

Dazzling Dave:• Performance: Fantastic fun for

the whole family! Come see yo-yo champion, Dazzling Dave, perform amazing tricks and learn a bit about how it’s done.

• Workshop: Learn how to juggle like a pro! Yo-yos will be provided. Appropriate for ages 7 - 11. Registration required.

Kaleiokapilialoha*: Have you always wanted to learn more about Hawaiian culture, language

and history? Come catch the aloha spirit while learning how to hula (dance) with Kaleiokapilialoha.

Mad Science of Minnesota:• Fire and Ice: This program promises to dazzle

and entertain as you interact with our Mad Scientists! Foggy dry ice storms and even a special Mad Science “burp” potion will amaze children as they see the scientific method in action and put it to the test - the FLAME test. Learn about the three states of matter and watch as we save money from burning up.

• The Mystery of Chemistry: Mystify your mind as we explore chemistry! See a series of experiments involving smoke, liquid, foam and slime! Explore science in a fun way and learn a bit about how chemistry changes things.

Magician Matt Dunn: An action-packed come-dy magic show for ALL ages! This fast-paced, funny and extremely visual show incorporates a live rabbit and goldfish. Kids get to be a part of the show.

Mixed Nuts: What is everyone laughing about? It’s the Midwest’s favorite kid’s comedy duo, Mixed Nuts! Think of us as your old favorites Half-Pint & Oscar but without the face paint. Come experience Mixed Nuts’ special blend of hilarious hijinks and physical comedy, sure to tickle your funny bone.

Nature Scavenger Hunt: Head outside for a scavenger hunt around the library’s pond! Can you find a goose feather? Do you spot a wood-chucks home? Where can you see a flower in bloom? An outdoor activity for all ages, rain or shine.

Okee Dokee Brothers*: Come hear Minnesota’s very own Grammy Award-winning kid’s blue-grass band! Listen to twangy, toe-tapping folk music with smart, funny lyrics that are equal parts hillbilly, 7-year old boy and your favorite teach-er.

Paul Spring*: Bring children’s books to life with folk music. An interactive and upbeat performance which includes songs and stories about char-acters like Sherlock Holmes and Peter Pan.

RadZoo: Interactive and informative presenta-tion featuring a dozen reptiles and amphibians including frogs, turtles, lizards, snakes and one small alligator. Everyone will have a chance to touch a reptile at the end of the program.

Raptor Center: A fascinating program on the life of the raptor. Join the University of Minnesota to hear all about the lives of these amazing birds and meet an owl, hawk and falcon up close.

Reading with Horse Power*: Half-Pint horses will present a horse themed program. After shar-ing stories about horses, participants will learn about the miniature horse and have an opportu-nity to pet and interact with a live miniature horse.

Roe Family Singers*: Toe-tappin’ music that will get the whole family danc-ing with this award-winning homegrown band that plays good-time, old-time hillbilly music sure to entertain.

Schiffley Puppets*: Comic situations, original puppet characters and morals are added to clas-sic fairy tales creating an action packed enter-tainment extravaganza!

Science Outside the Box: Celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday with professor Sepoc. The sci-ence of spells and tricks will be revealed and participants will have the opportunity to make their own joke or spell book. Appropriate for ages 5 & up.

Stephen Shaskan*: A local children’s author and illustrator, Shaskan will present a program of book-reading and song-sharing with his books and guitar. Appropriate for Pre-K.

Tamarack Nature Center*: Join us for an owl-themed storytime for children of all

ages. After sharing several owl stories children will have the opportunity to meet a real-live Saw Whet owl!

Treasure Beyond Measure: When greedy Capt’n Curley inherits his father’s pirate shop, he seeks to locate the world’s greatest treasure! Join this silly pirate as he embarks on an adven-ture filled with physical comedy, funny magic and uproarious audience participation.

Wendy’s Wiggle, Jiggle & Jam*: A highly inter-active musical show that gives everyone a chance to be a star on stage. Original music, col-orful and engaging props, and high energy keeps the audience participating throughout the program.

Bring your bicycle and join the Sisu Foundation, NOW Bikes and Fitness and the local Police Department for a bicycle safety clinic about the rules of the road. Get a free bike inspection and helmet fitting. Then take a ride on a course set up in the parking lot where you can have fun and practice what you’ve learned. Helmets required.
