Food Security: How Chile has worked
Chile has reduced food security problems in the last 20 years by:• Reducing poverty from 38% to 13% and extreme
poverty from 13% to 3%• Chile is ranked in the first position in Latin
America and 26th in the world. The index examines affordability, availability and quality of food.
This is the result of:• Economic growth in the last 30 years, especially
in the agricultural sector.• Social protection system from childhood to old
age
