Beliefs, Values, Norms

• High Education is a big deal.

• Students attend school six days per week.

• Giving gifts for occasions and saying “you did not have to” numerous times.

• First month of being born the parents give red eggs out to relatives.

• The 60th birthday is the most important.

• Red is used as a color of celebration and is lucky or fortunate.  Pink and yellow mean prosperity.  White, gray and black are funeral colors.

• Medicines and foods are often referred to as either "hot" or "cold.”

• Males are preferred.

History

• First non-mythical dynasty to rule China was the Xia (2200- 1700 BCE)

• Qin Shi Huanqdi founded the Qin Dynasty.

• By 589 CE, the Western branch of the Wei kings had enough wealth and power to defeat their rivals, and unite China again.

• Sui Dynasty built legal, governmental, and societal framework for the powerful Tang Empire to follow.

Conflicts

• Russia is trying to gain power over Ukraine while China is made investments into that country. Which last year they invested billions of dollars in farmland.

Dislikes and Likes!

• One thing I dislike is that China prefers males and sometimes results to abortion if it is a female.

• I like that Martial Arts is a big deal and they start practicing it at a young age.

My Opinion

• Although China is an interesting country I would never leave there. The seem to strict about everything and I could not picture myself living anywhere but the US or Italy.

Beliefs, Values, and Norms

• Personal relationships are valued.

• Avoid calling attention to themselves.

• Very competitive

•  When leaving, he or she should say good-bye individually to everyone present.

• Honor elders.

• Women are restricted to a house-wife type role.

• Family oriented.

• Several generations will live under the same roof and leave only when they are married.

History

• Diaguita and  Guarani were the two groups existing before European arrival.

• The two groups prevented the powerful Inca from expanding their empire into Argentina from what is now Bolivia.

• 16th century is when Buenos Aires was founded.

• British attacked Buenos Aires in 1806 and 1807.

Conflicts

• Currently their was a strike amongst citizens in Argentina. They all went on a 24hr strike because inflation had risen and so did prices. The downfall was wages was at a stand still.

Dislikes and Likes

• The one thing I strongly dislike is that women are expected to be a house wife. They are just as capable of doing things like males.

• I love how the Argentina culture is strongly family oriented. I think family is a huge importance.

My Opinion

• I would not like to live here because the US makes me feel safe and free, but I would love to visit. Argentina seems like a beautiful country filled with generous individuals.
