C hinatown Mid-A utum n F e s tiv al

Whether it is the traditions , decorations or food

connected with the Mid–Autumn F estival, C hinatown

serves up this ancient C hinese festival with a unique

modern twist. T his year, C hinatown comes alive with

lantern-themed decorations that line the streets of

C hinatown with their mesmerizing mix of colours .

T he street s talls will be bustling with a festive bazaar

selling an array of goodies such as Mooncakes ,

P omelos and Handicrafts . Here are some of the

highlights :

Lantern Making C ompetition

T he local Kreta Ayer-Kim S eng C itizens '

C onsultative C ommittee will be engaging various

groups of youths to create lantern sculptures under

the guidance of profess ional lantern makers . T he

lanterns will be displayed at C hinatown P oint from

31s t Augus t to 4th Oc tobe r 2013.

Night Market @ C hinatown

S tarting 6th to 19th S ept 2013 from:

10:30am to 11:00pm on Mon to F ri

10:30am to 12:00am (midnight) on S at, S un & P ublic

Holiday

Opening C eremony & L ight-up @ C hinatown S treets

T he official light-up and opening ceremony takes place

on 7th S eptember from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, where you

can bask in a rous ing street parade, dragon dance

performances , multi-cultural performances and

spectacular firework displays along New Bridge R oad

and E u T ong S en S treet.

Nightly S tage S how

T here will be cultural performances , compris ing of

entertainers and troupes . Here, they will be staged

nightly at Kreta Ayer S quare from 7th S eptember to 19

S eptember from 8:00pm to 11:00pm.
