Port Blair, Oct 11 The Special Judge(POCSO Act) N&MAndaman Mayabunder,Shri Shailendra KumarSingh has convicted oneperson namely RaghunathMondal, 35, a samosa wala,R/o. Madhupur, Diglipur(originally from Kalna,West Bengal) for theoffence punishable U/s-6of POCSO Act 2012 andalso U/s 377 IPC. He hasbeen remanded to JudicialCustody for reflection ofhis mind to near quantumof punishment.Accordingly, Special Judgepronounced the Judgmentin Open Court on 29/08/2019 and sentenced tosuffer rigorousimprisonment for 10 years

with fine of Rs.29,000/- indefault to suffer furthersimple imprisonment forthree months, for theoffence U/s 6 of POCSOAct 2012. The gist of the case isthat the convicted personcommitted penetral sexualassault upon a minor boy(11 yrs) of his same localityof Madhupur villageDiglipur and an FIR wasregistered at Police Station,Diglipur in the first week ofApril, 2019 and chargesheet was filed underPOCSO Act and speedilycustodial trial wasconducted and disposedthe case within short spanof time, the Special PublicProsecutor, Shri UttamKirtania said.
