105 students of Class VIII had a counseling session conducted by Rtd. Col. Smt. Sushmita Adhikari on the topic “Developing effective study habits”

Mahasamadhi Day Celebrations
6th August, 2019:
10 students from classes IX to XII , accompanied by our science faculty- Sri. Durga Prasad attended a screening test as part of the National Anveshika Experimental Skill Test Competition, conducted by ‘The Indian Association of Physics Teachers and the National Anveshika Network of India’. This was conducted at St. Francis College, Begumpet on the 6th of August 2019. Chi.

Krishna Calindi of Class XII (Science) got qualified for the next round, which was to be held on the 23rd of August 2019.
8th August, 2019: Counseling session by Rtd.Col. Smt. Sushmita Adhikari:
96 students of class IX attended a workshop by the Vidyalaya counselor, Rtd. Col. Smt. Sushmita Adhikari on the topic of ‘’ Communication skills”.
11th August, 2019: Participation in PRMO Examination:
Pre Regional Maths Olympiad examination was held on the 11th of August 2019. 55 students from Classes VIII to XII participated in this exam. Centre for all of them was Air Force School, Bowenpally.
13th/14th August, 2019: Sanskrit week:
Sanskrit Dinotsavam is on Hayagreeva Jayanti Day, which falls on Sravana Pournima Day. This year, 15th August, being Sravana Pournima, 13th and 14th August assembly saw celebrations by the Sanskrit faculty and students from Classes V to X, learning Sanskrit as a second or third language. Students, ably guided by their teachers, Smt. Rashmi and Sri. Datta Sai, told about the importance of Samskrutam language and about the science and technological progress of our country. They depicted Aryabhatta and Panini, the great scientists and educators of ancient India. Students also performed a drama, a dance and sang a beautiful melody about the origin of this great language, which is also known as the language of the Gods.

14th August, 2019: Awards given to winners of 4th National Sanskrit Olympiad Examination:
Eight students from Classes VIII and IX who won gold medals at the state level of the 4th National Sanskrit Olympiad Examination, were given their certificates and medals on the occasion of Sanskrit Dinam. Chi. Gayathri Ganti of Class IX, Chi. Ayush Mohanty of Class IX, Chi. Vidushi of Class IX, Chi. Siddharth of Class IX, Chi. Amulya Vijaya of Class VIII, Chi. Sreshtha of Class VIII, Chi. 14th August, 2019: Raksha Bandhan Celebrations in Assembly:
Vidyalaya celebrated Raksha Bandhan in the assembly in a traditional manner, with sisters tying Rakhis on the wrists of their brothers and giving aarti to them. Significance of this festival was explained by Chi. Vaishnavi (Cultural Vice Captain-girls) of Class IX.

15th August, 2019: Independence Day Celebrations:
Vidyalaya celebrated the country’s 73rd Independence Day in its premises with a flurry of cultural activities, accompanying the flag hoisting. Chief guest for the event was Dr. S. Karunanidhi- an outstanding scientist and director (Control Systems Laboratory- Research Centre Imarat- RCI), DRDO, Hyderabad.

Shishu Vatika students came dressed up as freedom fighters and great leaders. Students
of the primary classes rendered a patriotic song in Telugu, while class VIII students rendered a
patriotic song in Sanskrit. Class XI students performed a dance, while class X students were
involved in a skit on the theme of sacrifice. The highlight of the day was a multi lingual, multi
cultural themed dance, involving 57 students from classes III to VI, performing to a foot tapping
patriotic song sung by Smt. Usha Uthup.

Fourteen students who won gold medals in the 4th National Sanskrit Olympiad
Examination at the National Level, were awarded their medals by the chief guest, Dr.S.
Karunanidhi. Sanskrit teachers of our Vidyalaya, Smt. Rashmi and Sri. Datta Sai were also
honoured on this occasion, and they received certificates, medals and a memento. They were
also appreciated for having won the highest number of gold medals by a particular school.

16th August, 2019: Individual Counseling session for a few Class IX students:
Vidyalaya counselor, Rtd. Col. Smt. Sushmita Adhikari interacted with a few students of Class IX individually, and gave them tips on studying effectively.
17th August, 2019: PTM for all classes from class I to class XII:
Parents of students from Classes I to XII had an interactive session with the teachers of their wards in the parent teacher meeting conducted on 17th August 2019.

Chi. Mahati of Class IX accompanied by our science faculty, Sri. Durga Prasad participated in a science exhibition comprising of projects and models on Modern Periodic Table. This was conducted on 17th August 2019 at Indian Institute of Chemical Technology- Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology. (IICT-CCMB).

19th August, 2019: Unit-Test 2:
Unit test 2/ Periodic test 2 was conducted for the students of Classes I to X from 19th August 2019 to 23rd August 2019.
23rd August, 2019:
Chi. C. Krishna of Class XII, who was selected for the Round 2 of ‘The National Anveshika Experimental Skill Test Competition’, attended this event at St. Pius Girls Degree College, Tarnaka. Around 80 students from nooks and corners of Telangana participated in this mega Physics Olympiad. Giving prominence to hands on experiments, this event provided a tremendous opportunity to all our young upcoming scientific minds. Chi. Krishna was awarded with a merit certificate.
23rd August, 2019: Janmashtami celebrations in the Vidyalaya:
Lord Krishna visited our premises and performed Raas Leela. Can you believe this? Not only this avatara of Lord Krishna, but all the dashaavataras visited us and blessed the gathered audience.
Assembly of 23rd August saw the students of Class IX in a dance, performing to a foot tapping bhajan, humming the namasmarana of the Lord. The end of the bhajan saw students of the primary wing of the Vidyalaya dressed up as the different avataras of Lord Narayana come up to the stage in front of the audience.

29th August, 2019: Participation in the Quiz competition at HPS:
Few students of Class IX participated in the first round of Vishwa Darshan Quiz Program on “India and the world” , conducted by the Ministry of external affairs in the Vidyalaya in the first week of August. Chi. Ayush Mohanty, Chi. Samvrit and Chi. Sruti Guduru got qualified for participation in the next round conducted at HPS (Hyderabad Public School) on 29th August 2019. 45 students from 15 schools in and around Hyderabad participated in this event. All three were awarded merit certificates and a memento- a book of “India and the world” . Chi Ayush and Chi Samvrit also received awards for telling the answers in the audience quiz. Both of them were awarded with 16 GB pen drives.

31st August 2019: Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations in the Assembly:
Lord Ganesh, the AadiDev, the Vighna Haratha entered our Vidyalaya premises on the 31st of August with great pomp and splendour. The birth of Lord Ganesha was depicted in a skit.

Symbolism of Lord Ganesha was explained and later the feelings of Lord Ganesha were told loud . His trouble with pollution, non degradable materials and so on that were making the Lord agitated were potrayed. A few dances were also performed welcoming this Lord.

Students of Class X and Class XII conducted a special assembly on the hazards and imbalance caused by using plaster of Paris and oil paints to the water bodies and the eco system. A community awareness rally was taken by the students of Class VIII, in and around the premises of the Vidyalaya, echoing their thoughts for an eco friendly Ganesha. They educated the public on using Clay idols voicing their belief through slogans such as ‘Ganesha sees your devotion and not decoration “,”Go green to save the blue”, etc. Later Eco friendly mud Ganeshas , provided by the GHMC were distributed to the students.

14th August, 2019: RakshaBandhan and Independence Day celebrations:
Entire ShishuVatika celebrated the bonding between siblings, the bonding between friends, the bonding between each other and the bonding between themselves and their teachers by tying rakhis on the wrists of each other.

The 73rd Independence day was celebrated in the ShishuVatika wing of the Vidyalaya, with a small role play. A few students came dressed up as different national leaders; and all the students participated in making our National Flag.

Green Day in UKG:
Green- the colour of the grass, the colour of the trees, the colour of fertility, and the colour of the eco system!!! Kindergarten students learnt about the concept of this colour by learning about objects of this colour and feeling & looking at them. The students and staff came up dressed in the colour of green, and gave us a sense of eco friendly students and classrooms.

23rd August, 2019: Janmashtami Celebrations:
Lord Krishna blessed the Shishu Vatika wing of our Vidyalaya; in fact so many Krishnas, so many Gopikas!! Children came dressed up in mythological charecters related to Lord Krishna. The occasion was graced by Swami Saakshiroopanandaji. Chi. Harsh and Chi. Praakrit, both of UKG, spoke on the significance of Janmashtami . Children performed a dance and every child participated in singing and repeating Bhajans sung by Swamiji. All the children came forward, witnessed the puja, took aarti, had fun breaking the matkis and distributing Prasad to everyone.

Other Laurels and Awards:
1) Chi. V. Pranav participated in DRS- MUN (Model United Nations) held at DRS
International School at Bowenpally , held from the 8th to the 10th of August, 2019.
Chi. Pranav was a delegate speaking on environmental issues representing the
country of Ivory Coast, as part of UNEA Committee. He was declared the best
delegate and received a memento and a certificate.
Chi. Pranav also participated in the MUN conducted at IIT-BHU held at Benaras from
the 30th of August to the 1st of September 2019. The agenda for this MUN was
Economic Crisis in Venezuela and South Sudan. Chi. Pranav was speaking on behalf
of Cambodia as part of the Economic and Social Council.

2) Chi. Ganaraj Ganti of Class III, Chi. Gayathri Ganti of Class IX and Chi . AmulyaVijaya
of Class VIII participated in a musical concert on the occasion of SriKrishna
Janmashtami Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Sri Radha Yugal Kishore Mandir at West
Maredpally, Secunderabad on the 24th of August 2019. They were given books from
the Bhagavatam as mementos.
They also participated in a music concert organized by the Bharatiya Kala Samskruti –a
non profit organization that supports Indian Arts & Culture. This Sangeeta Aradhana
programme was held on 4th August, 2019 at Pheonix Auditorium, Madhapur. They were
appreciated with certificates.

11) Chi. Akshaya of Class III participated in the 7th Salute Martial Arts Academy, Telangana State
Invitational Championship-2019, (affliated to the Bodukan Karate Do- India) held at Victoria
Indore Stadium, Chaderghat, Hyderabad on 18th August, 2019 . She secured the 1st place in the
Kata category and was awarded with a certificate of appreciation and a gold medal.

3) Chi Ayush participated in an “All India U-14 Cricket Tournament” organized bythe
Don Bosco Cricket Academy in the first week of August at the Academy itself. He
received the award for the best batsman, and a certificate of appreciation.

4) Chi. Sahiti of Class VII participated in the 65th SGGF District Level Inter Schools Sports
& Games 2019-20 in the Under-14 Girls Badminton, held at L.B.Indoor Stadium on
20th & 21st August, 2019. This was organized by the Hyderabad District School Games
Federation. She secured the third place, and was awarded with a merit certificate
and a bronze medal.

5) Disciples of Guru. A. ShivaKrishna Swaroop- Chi. AdityaKarthik of Class VII, Chi.
Hrishikesan of Class VII and Chi. Sashank Subramanyam of Class VI participated in a
group violin performance on the occasion of 73rd Independence Day celebrations.
They were part of 73 violinists who performed for this occasion and this was telecast
live on Suman TV.
6) Chi. K. K. Nischala of Class II and Chi. Vaishnavi of Class VI participated in a
programme organized by “Bala Mani Haaram” at Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University
as part of the SriKrishna Janmashtami celebrations in August 2019. Chi. Vaishnavi
recited Bhagavad Geeta shlokas, while Chi. Nischala very lovingly depicted all the
major facial expressions (Mudras, Nava Rasas) used in dance, and chanted a variety
of Telugu poetry and namaskriyas. She did it with such extraordinary charm, that the
chief guest for the event felicitated her with a shawl. Both Chi. Vaishnavi and Chi.
Nischala received appreciation for the same and were offered certificates and
mementos.
