The Range
Two versions are available: ATS 16H is the
high voltage (230 V) unit and ATS 16L is the
low voltage (120 V) unit. ATS ensures
complete reliability to the load by eliminating
system failures which are caused by
problems in distribution rather than by the
failure of the power source itself. Double-
pole operations ensure optimal flexibility for
all the different types of electrical
distributions.
Flexibility for customized solutions
ATS guarantees uninterrupted operation for the
load that is fed by two alternative sources.
The ATS is a simple but extremely effective
solution for managing the redundancy that is
provided by two independent power sources.
ATS is a very effective solution that allows
complete compatibility with the customers’
load and environment requirements.
A standard feature is the priority mode
operation, allowing users to select the preferred
power source.
ATS handles the automatic or manual
transfer of loads between two independent
power sources without interrupting the
power supply. In the event of a failure the
transfer from one source to the other, is
automatic and instantaneous.
Leading technology
A crucial function of ATS is the “Break Before
Make” transfer. This ensures that the two live
feeds are never connected in parallel. The ATS
automatic switch also ensures that switching
between the two power supplies occurs safely
under both synchronous and asynchronous
conditions relative to input waveforms.
Reliability
Employing an ATS adds another layer of
security for your load. It ensures a redundant
power supply by enabling controlled
switching between the two independent AC
power supply sources.

The VDC and VDC-XE Flywheels are fully compatible with Chloride three-phase UPS. By monitoring the UPS DC bus, the system reacts to changes in the DC voltage levels. The two-wayIGBT system allows both charging and discharging through the same channel. Flexible chargingparameters can be set to meet customer requirements.
Short-duration ride-through
Flywheel systems are particularly suited tomanufacturing and process applicationswhere short duration interruptions to themains supply can cause loss of productionand high maintenance following a powerbreak. By simply using the Flywheel'savailable energy (one or more in parallelconnection), VDC and VDC-XE can be used together with the UPS to provide protection against short-duration“glitches” or outages.
Ride-through “Bridge” to generator
In applications where there is already astandby generator Vycon Flywheels (in singleor parallel configurations) can provide thenecessary power bridge to cover thetransition to standby generator. Often in thesecircumstances, the time required to startthe generator and for it to take over supplyto the load is less than 15 seconds.

What type of fuel ?
IdaTech fuel cells offer the choice of two fuel
options:
Industrial hydrogen gas
Supplied in 7 or 9m3 cylinders
(around 8-10k Wh of energy per cylinder).
Methanol/water liquid fuel
The ElectraGen™ system can be paired with
the IdaTech ElectraGen™ XTR Module, a
methanol fuel reformer designed to provide
a direct hydrogen feed when storage space
is limited or weight restrictions are enforced
(1 litre of methanol/water fuel = 1 kWh).
What is a fuel cell ?
A fuel cell is a device that generates
electricity by a chemical reaction. Hydrogen
and oxygen (air) are the 2 “fuels” of that
reaction. One great appeal of fuel cells is that
they generate electricity with very little
pollution - much of the hydrogen and oxygen
used in generating electricity ultimately
combine to form a harmless by-product,
namely water.
Industrial hydrogen gas. Methanol/water liquid fuel.

ElectraGen™XTR Module (liquid fuel solution)
The CE,TÜV certified ElectraGen™XTR
Module is a liquid fuelled extended run
module built to produce high purity hydrogen
on demand for IdaTech’s family of
ElectraGen™ back-up power fuel cell systems.
The ElectraGen™XTR Module allows the
reliable production of hydrogen to the
ElectraGen™ fuel cell systems, enabling
days of operation from a very compact
liquid fuel source. The ElectraGen™XTR
Module also provides an economically
sound solution to help avoid the traditional
challenges associated with hydrogen
delivery and storage by producing
hydrogen on site upon demand. It is
perfect for remote locations where
frequent hydrogen delivery may not be
practical.
Advantages to Methanol Fuel
Methanol is an ideal source of hydrogen to
power today’s fuel cells due to its
consistent high quality, extremely low
freezing point, lower reforming
temperature and readily available supply
options.
Its very low sulphur content simplifies the
reforming process, reduces the capital,
operating and maintenance costs of the
fuel cell system and greatly reduces the
risk of fuel cell damage.
Methanol’s lower reforming temperature
ensures faster start up, improved system
efficiencies, lower fuel processor capital
costs and a longer fuel processor life.

MopUPS P/R is software that installs on a server computer to monitor multiple UPS modulesconfigured as a parallel or redundant system. P/R watches for system events and module eventsincluding lost redundancy due to load changes or module faults. MopUPS P/R will shutdown the hostserver safely, as well as other servers on the network, when events threaten power availability.
MopUPS NSA (Network Shutdown Agent) is software that installs on server computers to listen on thenetwork for a shutdown signal from MopUPS P/R or ManageUPS NET ADAPTER. Sequenced automated shutdown of less critical server groups reduces the load on theUPS and extends battery time to the most critical servers and network infrastructure.
ManageUPS NET ADAPTERS
For smaller, stand-alone facilities with a small number of UPS, ManageUPS adapters are a completeUPS monitoring and management tool with embedded e-mail alert sender, WEB server, network servershutdown controller and on-board event/data logging.
Optional Environment Sensor monitors ambient temperature and humidity plus three inputs for monitoring status of generators, air conditioning units, enclosure doors or other devices that communicate status via standard volt-free relay contact points.
For large facilities with enterprise monitoring systems for ICT Network or BuildingInfrastructure, ManageUPS adapters host UPS management agents that support SNMP or MODBUS-TCP over ethernet, or Modbus-RTU (JBUS) over RS232/422/485 networks. ManageUPS adapters alsohost optimized management agents for central monitoring of distributed UPS via Chloride'sManageUPS CIO.
ManageUPS CIO software for central management of multiple UPS and Environment Sensors in largeror multiple data centre facilities. A multi-level pin map helps visualize problem spots by country, city, building or room floor plan.
Chloride offers several families of mid and high power UPS and static switches for large and small data centreprojects.
Solutions for data centres
Profile
Large data centres are typically poweredby redundant power feeds covered by redun-dant UPS, backed by generators. In smaller data centres, a single UPS may bethe only defence against downtime from utilityfailures.
Server Consolidation and Mainframe Migrationpromise lower costs, greater flexibility - andnew problems.
Unified infrastructure monitoring
Heat from high density server racks andblade frames can result in hotspots thatreduce server life and reliability.
Safe server shutdown & load shedding
Today’s data centre staff are outnumbered byserver computers. Instead of one or twoservers powered by a small rack UPS, multipleserver racks share a central or zone UPS.
Needs assessment
• Would unified monitoring of power, environment and related physicalinfrastructure give you the insightyou need without the complexity ofmultiple monitoring systems?
• Do you need to shut down serversautomatically before UPS batteriesare depleted during a prolongedoutage or when room or enclosuretemperatures exceed a threshold?
• Would it be helpful to shutdown less essential servers sooner during an extendedpower fail, to reserve battery capacity forbusiness-critical servers?
• You have a parallel/redundant UPS system.Who should be notified by e-mail whensituations develop that threaten redundancyin the power delivery system?
