Choir Expectations, Rules and Regulations Please read the following and sign below If you are not through the upper door to the choir room when the bell rings, you are late. When you enter the choir room, there are two things you need to do; get your binder and sit in your seat. Place all your belongings, including your choir binder and pencil, under your chair before the bell rings. Do not talk when Mr. Long is talking. No gum, food, candy, or foreign objects are to be in your mouth unless placed there by a dental professional. The consequence is a detention. There are no warnings! See the handbook for a more detailed explanation. Do not bring any drinks to class. The only exception is a water bottle with water in it. Keep your hands to yourself and stay out of other people’s things. Do not play the piano or touch anything on the piano. No not brush/comb your hair or put on make-up during class. Do your homework at home or in study hall. If you are found doing homework in class, Mr. Long will take your homework from you and deliver it to the appropriate classroom teacher. You will need to get your homework back from your teacher. Do not enter the choir office unless Mr. Long asks or invites you to do so. Treat the room and its materials with respect. Passes to leave the choir room will not be issued. In the event of a personal emergency, ask Mr. Long for the emergency hall pass. If you have a conflict with a Concert Rehearsal or Concert, a written explanation from a parent/guardian is required prior to being excused. A follow-up phone call will be made to confirm the excuse. o Each Concert Rehearsal and Concert is worth 50 Points, o Excused with a note prior to the event is 45 Points (except in the case of emergencies). o Excused with a note after the event is 35 Points (except in the case of emergencies). o Unexcused is 0 Points. Always be polite and courteous. Participate and give 100% effort every day Have a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) towards yourself, your fellow choir members and the director. If you are having difficulty managing the expectations of choir, you will meet with the director and form an SAP (Student Action Plan). If behavior does not improve soon after, a conference with your parent/guardian(s) will be arranged to discuss your continuation with choir. Expectations for choir will be honored by all members (School Handbook). We have read and understand the expectations on this sheet. I am willing to participate for the betterment of the group and understand the negative and positive consequences of my actions. I understand that I will be removed from Choir if am unable to meet these expectations on a consistent basis.
