Chopard, one of the world’s most prestigious designers and manufacturers of luxury timepieces, jewelry and accessories, asked the McCann organization to put audio visual creativity to work in their Manhattan flagship store at Madison Avenue and 63rd Street. The company needed a window display concept that would act as a fitting showcase and high tech exhibit for their quality products. To accomplish the windows of technology, we deployed six 42” Sharp LCD’s in portrait mode. Four were setup in the Madison Avenue windows and spaced to fill an 80’ length. Two LCD’s went into the 63rd Street window. To the back of each LCD we affixed a jewelry case holding Chopard product. The entire unit rotates 180 degrees, so whether you are in the store or passing on the street you see either an actual Chopard product, or a multimedia presentation of company products and promotional images. One of McCann’s challenges was to closely coordinate with the mill workers to assure that the rotating jewelry cases and LCDs were flawlessly installed, have them spin freely and work smoothly. Our specialists selected a Dataton Watchout production system to drive the screens. This versatile compositing tool uses standard Microsoft formats . Watchout gives Chopard the ability to display different media on each LCD, or to create a single palette of synchronized video images capable of moving from screen-to-screen. Each of the six screens are driven by a separate computer. Complete control is handled through a Crestron Control System with a touch screen that pulls up the Watchout data. It can summon up different shows for each screen or produce a synchronized, six screen presentation. Using a familiar timeline interface, Watchout’s multi-display software not only helps build the show, but also schedules it to meet Chopard’s promotional time frames and traffic flows. McCann also installed a control system. This increases audio selection allowing users to choose audio from any of the available sources, including watchout, DVD or IPOD. The Crestron touch panel displays all song titles, track numbers and watchout information. This audio system uses JBL speakers throughout both levels of the store. Chopard | New York, New York

  • Chopard, one of the world’s most prestigious designers and manufacturers of luxury timepieces, jewelry and accessories, asked the McCann organization to put audio visual creativity to work in their Manhattan flagship store at Madison Avenue and 63rd Street.

Our specialists selected a Dataton Watchout

production system to drive the screens.
