Loraine awakens from a restful nights sleep at promptly 6:00am. She turns off her alarm, makesher bed as shes getting out of it, and sits down todo her morning Bible reading and to have somequiet time with the Lord.

Then, she goes to her well-organized closet, pullsout a beautiful cotton dress, and slips it on. Next,

she goes into the bathroom, and does her hairnicely, and puts a small dab of perfume on herwrists.

She then helps her younger children with theirroom chores, and then gets a delicious breakfast of

whole-wheat pancakes, fresh strawberries, and milk ready for the morning meal.

Her children help her clean up the kitchen aftereach meal with no fuss; they do it together, and consider it fun.

Lorains afternoons are spent doing cleaning choreswith her children, working on personal projects, and homeschooling her children.

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    6/58

Her evenings after dinner are often spent playingcards, or taking walks with her family, and taking

turns reading aloud from good books.

After Lorain tucks her children in for bedtime, shesnuggles up to her husband, as he adoringly looksdown at her, and tells her how much he loves her.

A Christian homemaker is a Christian woman whonot only takes loving care of her husband, children, and house, but is also the element that makes herhouse a home.

A Christian homemaker has true joy flooding herheart, because she is living her God-given role, andshe is confident about that role, because it is laid out in the Bible.

In the next chapter of this book we will look attwo key scriptures that all Christian homemakers

should know by heart. These scriptures will reveal to you what the jobs of a true Christianhomemaker are.

To be sober, to love their husbands, to lovetheir children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at

home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Titus 2:4b-5

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Herchildren arise up, and call her blessed; herhusband also, and he praiseth her. Proverbs31:27-28

There are many scriptures in the Bible, Old

Testament, and New Testament, which speak of the duties of the Christian homemaker. I havechosen the two above scriptures, because they aremy favorites, and carry a lot of meaning to manyChristian homemakers worldwide.

I believe that the KJV Bible is the inerrant Wordof God. I also believe that every word in the KJVBible is inspired. Because of my believing this, it

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    10/58

has enabled me to study the Bible on such a moredeeper, intimate level: Word-by-Word.

Lets take another look at the first key scripture:

To be sober, to love their husbands, to lovetheir children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers athome, good, obedient to their own husbands,

that the word of God be not blasphemed. Titus 2:4b-5

From giving close heed to each word in the abovescripture, we can conclude that the following aresome of the duties of the Christian homemaker:

----She is to be soberShe is to be soberShe is to be soberShe is to be sober

This means she is not to become intoxicated, norabuse drugs. However, soberness is also a state of

mind. If we are not sober-minded, then Satan canwrap his hands right around our necks:

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    11/58

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary thedevil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seekingwhom he may devour -1 Peter 5:8

To be sober-minded, one must have wisdom. However, this wisdom needs to be Christianwisdom, not worldly wisdom:

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7

----The Christian homemaker is to love herThe Christian homemaker is to love herThe Christian homemaker is to love herThe Christian homemaker is to love herhusbandhusbandhusbandhusband

What type of love do you have for your husband? Many women have the feeling, but do they showit via actions? Youve heard the saying actionsspeak louder than words. Well, here is anothertrue saying for you: Actions speak much louderthan feelings.

This is partly why the KJV Bible sometimes usesthe word charity when describing love.

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    12/58

Charity does not just mean giving to the poor.It means love in action love no longer

functioning as a noun, but as a verb.

You may be feeling love for your husband all of the time but does he know about it?

----The Christian homemaker is to love her childrenThe Christian homemaker is to love her childrenThe Christian homemaker is to love her childrenThe Christian homemaker is to love her children

All Christian mothers love their children, right?

Noun-love is something that is hidden to outsideobservation. Charity-love is love in action.

Are you feeling love for your children, whileoutwardly your actions are saying leave mealone, go play, cant I ever get a break from

you? Where is the charity love? This is the actionlove that says, I want to teach you how I did that, I want to spend my days with you, becauseI love being with you, I want you to grow up inthe wisdom and knowledge of the Lord so that youcan have the best life possible.

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    13/58

Especially for those with young children, it can bequite easy to send the kids out to run about theneighborhood, or put them in front of the TV,while you get your cooking and cleaning done.

However, the charity-love way would be to include your children in your chores and duties with you.Certainly it is easier to clean out the refrigerator

without little hands smearing the jelly drips youare trying to wipe up. But you know what? Itmay not seem like it now, but those little handswill soon be big hands, and soon your children willbe grown. What did you teach them while theywere little?

Did you teach them about the Lord, via charity-love? Did you teach them to be joyful, wise, diligent workers for the Lord? Or did you teachthem escapism, via TV, music, video games, eating

    junk food, etc.?

    14/58

There are many facets to being discreet, and certainly a whole book could be written on justthat alone. In this book we will hone in on a few

    parts of being discreet.

First off, how do you talk? Is your voice loud, harsh, and unladylike? What types of words do

you use in your every day vocabulary? Do you use

gutter words, such as zit, shoot, that sucks, etc.? The Bible is clear that we are not to have any

    form of filthy communication:

Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverselips put far from thee. Proverbs 4:24

The tongue is a very hard thing to control:

Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, thatthey may obey us; and we turn about their wholebody. Behold also the ships, which though they beso great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet arethey turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. Even so thetongue is a little member, and boasteth great

    15/58

things. Behold, how great a matter a little firekindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, thatit defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire thecourse of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. Forevery kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath beentamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man

tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after thesimilitude of God. Out of the same mouth

proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, thesethings ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send

forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries?either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shewout of a good conversation his works withmeekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envyingand strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie notagainst the truth. This wisdom descendeth not

from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    16/58

where envying and strife is, there is confusion andevery evil work. But the wisdom that is from aboveis first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to beintreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without

partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit ofrighteousness is sown in peace of them that make

    peace. James 3:3-18

Another key to being discreet is in how we walkand stand. Do you slouch? When you walk, is itladylike? Always remind yourself to stand with

good posture, and to walk like a lady. Do thiseven when no one is looking, for One is alwayslooking (God). Furthermore, if you practice good

posture and good walking all of the time (evenwhen youre alone,) then it will be a habit when

youre not alone, and when youre possibly beingan example for others.

Speaking of having a discreet appearance, do youdress like a lady? Sure, you probably dress like awoman, but do you dress like a lady? There is adifference.

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    17/58

If you dont wear dresses, try it. See how feminine you feel when you are wearing a beautiful, flowing, and feminine modest dress. While youreat it, style your hair in a nice ladylike manner aswell. Notice how your whole attitude is different.Notice how you feel. There is something to it, isntthere?

Changing the way you look affects yourattitude Do you have a discreet attitude? Do

you exude an attitude of being a saved Christian, full of joy? Or do you drip of being overworked, tired, or maybe even the martyr?

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    18/58

What type of expressions do you typically showthe world with your face? Is it a smile, or is it aleave me alone glare? Christians are commanded to be a light for Christ. Does your attitude, speech,

posture, walk, clothes, and facial expressionsreflect your being a light for Christ? Or do theymake you appear as Frump-Woman from the

    Home Labor Camp?

Id have to say that I find this definition accurateto what the Bible teaches us about being chaste. How is your thought life and conduct? Remember,it is not enough to speak with pure lips, and actdiscreet, one must also have chaste thoughts:

----The Christian homemaker is to be a keeper at homeThe Christian homemaker is to be a keeper at homeThe Christian homemaker is to be a keeper at homeThe Christian homemaker is to be a keeper at home

To be a keeper at home, you must be at home. Youshould not be running errands all of the time, orout getting stuff handled. Certainly there aredays when we need to get groceries, pay bills, stopat the post office, go to the book store or library, but these days should not be the majority of our

days. How can one keep their home, if they arerarely in it?

Home should be a place of comfort, joy, relaxation, and other good things. It should be a place that

you take refuge in; your familys own world, soto speak. Nothing can take the place of that senseof security the family gets when they come through

the door, and mom is there to greet them.

Keeping the home is the main duty of a Christianhomemaker in a nutshell. This is why I chose theURL http://www.keepingthehome.com to housemy webpage. Keeping the home means taking care

of your husband and children, cooking deliciousand nutritious meals, and keeping the house cleanand orderly.

----The Christian homemaker is to be goodThe Christian homemaker is to be goodThe Christian homemaker is to be goodThe Christian homemaker is to be good

Ladies, we must watch our behavior. This also goes for our reactions to things we may see and hear. Being good means being a good Christian

with a good attitude. Dont forget to applybiblical wisdom to your everyday life.

----The Christian homemaker is to be obedient to herThe Christian homemaker is to be obedient to herThe Christian homemaker is to be obedient to herThe Christian homemaker is to be obedient to herhusbandhusbandhusbandhusband

Notice that the scripture we are studying mentionsthe husband twice. We are to love him, and to be

    obedient to him.

Being obedient to ones husband is hard for manywomen to swallow in todays world. Feminism isso internally steeped into the public school systemand everyday life, that often when one hears be

obedient to your husband, they may picture amindless slave, or a doormat.

To all good government systems, there is a type ofhierarchy. This is by Gods design, even thoughmany countries have perverted that system. Properhierarchies make for order and calmness to ensue. The Bible gives a hierarchy for the family unit aswell:

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    22/58

But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman isthe man; and the head of Christ is God. 1Corinthians 11:3

God is the head of Christ, and Christ is the head ofthe husband, and the husband is the head of thewife. Meanwhile, the wife is to train and direct

her children when her husband is at work. Whenthe husband is home from work, the wife is still totrain and direct her children, but to never thwarther husbands authority.

Certainly husbands are not perfect, and neither are

wives. Your imperfect husband has probably made poor decisions in the past. Obviously you candiscuss it with him (privately, and not in front ofthe children), and show him your point of view, but you are not to lord it over him. The husbandis the one ordained, via Gods Word, to wear the

pants in the family, not the wife. Its importantthat the chain of command be respected. This will teach the children to respect God as their authoritywhen they are grown.

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    23/58

The chain of command may be broken in extremecases, where the woman must act in order to

protect herself or the children. This is the lastresort. Many times something can be worked out,as per the womans following the helps given insuch books like Created to be His Helpmeet, and Fascinating Womanhood.

As a rule: being right, or having the best course ofaction, is not as important as the peace in thehousehold that ensues from submitting to Godsway of doing things.

Many women think that since women are tosubmit to their husbands, that this means men andwomen are not equal. The Bible says otherwise:

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neitherbond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for

ye are all one in Christ Jesus. -Galatians 3:28

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    24/58

Therefore, its not about equality, its aboutroles. It is a way to solve disagreements, or avoid them in the first place.

God created men and women differently, therefore, they have different jobs to do in their lifetimes.Women are not the same as men, and when

feminists try to obtain equality, what they are

really doing, is trying to make women into men, bygetting women to follow the mans role, instead ofthe womans role.

If the thought of submitting to your husband leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth, then

stop to consider what you are making it all mean inyour head; how are you interpreting it?

Submitting to ones husband is a God ordained blessing. Wives were created to be their husbandshelp meets. Our husbands need us.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Herchildren arise up, and call her blessed; her

If your idea of fun, is to sit around and rest, then maybe you need to look into how much idletime you have each day.

Granted, there are seasons in life where a wifemust get more rest, such as when she is pregnant orill.

However, the usual day should find the homemaker

busy, working on projects to better the home, cooking, cleaning, training and raising her children, loving on her husband, etc.

Homemaking is never an idle job. It is one filled

with work (and sometimes hardships) but it is alsoone filled with fulfillment, and the satisfaction ofseeing the benefits of a job well done.

The homemaker takes care of her home, and thosein it. She does it willingly, lovingly, and joyfully.

In concluding this chapter, I will list a few of theblessings of being a good homemaker, as taken fromProverbs 31:27-28

You were not born with Christian joy in yourheart. Life hasnt been all PrayzGod-canes and lollipops, has it? Life hasnt been, and isnt,

    perfect.

But you can have joy. Even in adversity you canpraise the Lord God. Even in temptation the Lordis helping:

There hath no temptation taken you but such as iscommon to man: but God is faithful, who will notsuffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; butwill with the temptation also make a way toescape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1

    Corinthians 10:13

For Christians, things eventually turn out good:

And we know that all things work together forgood to them that love God, to them who are thecalled according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Sometimes it may seem that we are in such turmoil, that we just dont know how God is going to make

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    31/58

it all better. Or, we may be trying to make God run off of our own time schedule, instead of His.If you ever find yourself inclined to think this, then think on the below scripture, instead:

Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and heshall exalt thee to inherit the land: when thewicked are cut off, thou shalt see it. Psalm 37:34

There is a key ingredient to being a joyful Christianhomemaker, and a truly joyful person in general:You need to be a child of God.

The Bible teaches us that Jesus Christ is the only

begotten Son of God. For us to become children ofGod, the Bible says we can get adopted into Gods

    family.

The Bible says that all have sinned. Remember oneof the scriptures we looked at earlier, that stated that God also looks at whats in our hearts.Ladies, a bad thought is sin. We all know that wehave sinned. Most of us have lied, stolen (even if

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    32/58

it was a paper clip), and maybe even spoken withforward lips, etc.

The Bible teaches us that the payment for sin isdeath. It speaks of an eternal dying in a place of torment called hell. This place was not created forus. It was created for the devil and his fallenangels. Yet, if we deny God, then there will be no

place left for us to go, except to that place of torment, where one is always in the process of

painfully dying, but the relief of death nevercomes. Jesus said the following, when warningabout hell:

Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is notquenched. Mark 9:48

We dont understand God, nor can we. He isinfinite; we are creations. He knows and shows

pure love, we only have a slight inkling of whatlove is. God loved us so much, that He sent JesusChrist, His only begotten Son, to die on the cross inour place.

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    33/58

Jesus paid the penalty for sin, so that we donthave to. All we need to do is accept Jesus as ourLord and Saviour, and accept the free gift of Jesusdying on the cross for us, in our place. When webelieve on Jesus, our sins are washed away, viaJesus blood, and we are saved. We become bornagain, and a new creature in Christ.

If youve never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, please do so now. It will change your life forever. True Christian joy is only a prayeraway. Pray to the Lord, and tell Him that youaccept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. ThankGod for that precious gift He has given you.

Then, tell someone about your new life in Christ.

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    34/58

Get an Old King James version Bible, and read theGospel of John. After youve read John, read thebook of Romans. After that, read all of the NewTestament, then the Old Testament, then the NewTestament again. This is a great way to read theBible for the first time, and you will get a lot outof it. It is imperative that you read the Bible. It

sustains us, and gives us that inner joy. It is Godslove letter to you, and it is also Lifes InstructionManual.

Add This Routine to your Daily Life:

Set aside one or more times for every single day, for the rest of your life. These times are veryimportant, and very special

This time will be your time with God. God

should be your number one priority. A good suggestion, is to have time with God in prayer, worship, and Bible reading for:

A time in the morning when you awake,In the mid afternoon when you need a break,

At night before the sleep you take.

The information in this chapter may just be areview for you, or maybe youre reading this, and itwill end up being new information for you. Onething is for certain: This is the most importantchapter in this book.

Pray to the Lord that He will give you clarity, while we take a stroll down the Roman Road

Its a beautiful day, the sun is shining, and thingsseem to be going great. OR Its a horrible day, theworld seems so dark, and nothing is good.

It doesnt really matter which of the above you

think. But there is something very important thatone must think upon, and that is this: If you wereto die right now, and stand in front of God, and He asked you why He should let you into heaven, what would you answer? Lets take a walk downthe Roman Road to find out the one and onlycorrect answer (Yes, you can know for sure if

youre going to heaven when you die).

    FIRST STOP Romans 3:10

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    44/58

As it is written, There is none righteous, no,

    not one: -Romans 3:10

No one is right all of the time. No one is good all of the time, and no one is righteous all of the time.

Are you perfect? If you were honest, youd answerno. Therefore, you are not righteous, are you?

    SECOND STOP Romans 3:23

For all have sinned, and come short of the

    glory of God; -Romans 3:23

No one is righteous, and everyone has sinned. TheBible tells us that no sinner can enter heaven. Sinis sin, no matter how big or small. An impurethought, a lie, coveting, etc., big sin or little sin

all have sinned. Why cant a sinner enter heaven? The answer is because they have come short of the

    glory of God.

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    45/58

When a person sins/does wrong, they may try tomake up for it, by doing good things. All of the

good things in the world will still not get you toGod. Sin is characterized in the Bible as a debt. You cannot pay the debt by doing the good works

you should have been doing in the first place. You will keep falling short.

Sin is like dirty clothes. If you take clean clothesand rub them against dirty clothes to make thedirty clothes clean, it only makes the clean clothesdirty. Good works added with your sin only makes

    your good works stained.

So far, weve established that no one is righteous, all are sinners, and that sinners fall short of the

glory of God. They cant get to God by their own good works, because they cant clean themselvesup, and hence they cannot get to heaven.

The walk down the Roman Road looks dreary. You know youre a sinner, and now you know thatsinners cannot get to heaven. Lets walk furtherdown the road; I think I see a light

    THIRD STOP Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift ofGod is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.Romans 6:23

In other words, sinners deserve the death penalty, which is the wage for sin. However, God wants usto spend eternity with Him in heaven, because Heloves us more than we can know. Therefore, Hemade eternal life in heaven a gift. This gift isavailable only through Jesus Christ the Lord.

We will find out what this gift is, at the next stopon the Roman Road. Lets go

    FOURTH STOP Romans 5:8

But God commendeth his love toward us, inthat, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.Romans 5:8

  • 8/3/2019 chrihom

    47/58

God shows His love for us, via the gift. The gift isthat Christ died for us. Remember that the wagesof sin is death. God sent Jesus Christ to pay thatdebt for us. We did the sinning, but Jesus Christwillingly suffered the penalty for our sins, so thatwe dont have to. The final stop on the RomanRoad tells us how to accept that gift.

    FIFTH STOP Romans 10:9-11

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth theLord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that

God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt besaved. For with the heart man believeth untorighteousness; and with the mouth confession ismade unto salvation. For the scripture saith,Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.Romans 10:9-11

When one accepts this free gift, they then become aChristian. There are many people walking around, who call themselves Christian, but they have

never accepted the free gift of salvation. Therefore, they are not saved from eternal damnation. Theyhave not been born again into Gods family.

In order to receive Gods free gift of salvation, justdo the following:

    1. Realize that you have sinned, and fallen

short of heaven. (Repent)2. Accept Jesus dying on the cross in your

place, to pay for your sins.3. Confess with your mouth, and believe in

your heart that Jesus is Lord, and that Hedied and rose from the dead, to pay for your

sins.4. Tell God that you have accepted His free gift

of salvation. Pray a prayer like thefollowing:

Dear Lord, Thank You for sending Your Son toDear Lord, Thank You for sending Your Son toDear Lord, Thank You for sending Your Son toDear Lord, Thank You for sending Your Son to pay the debt for my sins, by dying in my place. I pay the debt for my sins, by dying in my place. I pay the debt for my sins, by dying in my place. I pay the debt for my sins, by dying in my place. Iaccept Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and I believeaccept Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and I believeaccept Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and I believeaccept Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and I believethat Jesus died and rose from the dead. Thank Youthat Jesus died and rose from the dead. Thank Youthat Jesus died and rose from the dead. Thank Youthat Jesus died and rose from the dead. Thank You for Yo for Yo for Yo for Your free gift of salvation, I gladly accept it,ur free gift of salvation, I gladly accept it,ur free gift of salvation, I gladly accept it,ur free gift of salvation, I gladly accept it,

Without Christ, the Christian Homemaker cannothave true joy in her heart. Something will alwaysbe missing. This is why I took so many pages inthis book to express the importance of being saved, and having the Lord Jesus Christ in your heart.

Furthermore, what is joy, if you keep it to yourself? Smile and show your joy. Be a light for

Christ in all that you do. Radiate happiness, joy,and thankfulness for the manifold blessings thatGod provides you with.

You are blessed; dont forget that. Your family is a gift, cherish your family, and take great care of

them. Dont take them for granted. Dont takeyour home for granted. Cherish the gifts that God has given you, and enjoy the role of being aChristian Homemaker.

In my opinion, its the best job on earth.
