• BOSTON (HedgeWorld.com)—Chris Perras and Marshall Hurd joined DG Capital Management, a Boston-based long/short manager. Mr. Perras joined as partner and portfolio manager and Mr. Hurd comes on board as director of research.
• Mr. Perras, who has managed both long-only as well as long/short portfolios, was previously part of the management team for the AIM Opportunities Long/Short fund and AIM’s other hedge fund products. Mr. Perras had worked with DG Capital President Manu Daftary at Hellman Jordan in the early 1990s.
• In this new position, Mr. Perras will co-manage the firms’ offshore and onshore hedge fund pools and separate accounts. He will also help Mr. Daftary manage the Quaker Aggressive Growth Fund, a sub-advisory relationship through the Quaker Funds group.
• Mr. Hurd was senior analyst at Fidelity Investments’ Strategic Service Group, working with large institutional clients. He also worked in Fidelity’s performance measurement, attribution and research area. He will oversee capital market and portfolio risk control analysis and assist with company research in his newly formed position.
• DG Capital Management was founded in 1996 and manages US$331 million in hedge funds, separate accounts and the Quaker Aggressive Growth Fund.
