EVERYONE NOW NEEDS CLEARANCES Due to increased attempts by the state, lawyers and individuals to sue the Catholic Church for instances of Child Abuse, the Diocese has recently changed the policy on who needs to have the REQUIRED Child Abuse Clearances. EVERY PERSON OVER THE AGE OF 18 who volunteers in the parish in

any way must have their clearances. Members of every Liturgical Ministry, every Committee or

Organization, every Fund Raiser, every volunteer must complete the 6 required clearances to help

with any aspect of the parish.

1. Read & Sign off on the Diocesan Code of Pastoral Conduct 2. Attend the Virtus Training online or at parish location 3. Take Mandated & Permissive Reporting Training online 4. Obtain PA Criminal History Clearance 5. Obtain PA Child Abuse Clearance 6. Sign an affidavit We will begin to schedule sessions to help people complete these requirements. Please remember, they are not that difficult to complete and are

necessary to protect our children. WE NEED YOU!

LITURGY COMMITTEE Would you like to become more involved in helping to plan and implement the liturgical celebrations at our

Partner Parishes? Decorating the churches is one aspect of liturgical preparation, but there is more to it. We are looking for people who want to help to plan and enhance our liturgical celebrations in our parishes, based on current liturgical guidelines. We will begin to meet three times a year to begin to look at and plan upcoming liturgies in the

next four months. We will tentatively meet the third Monday of January, May and September. Thus, our next

meeting will be Monday, September 19 at 6:30 pm. Please let Fr. John know if you are interested in

serving on this committee.

Low-Impact Chair Exercise Come join the fun Thursday mornings after the daily Mass at St. Lawrence. It is a low– impact “Chair” exercise class,

sponsored by the St. Lawrence Altar Rosary Society.

Lord, Teach Me to Pray-”Praying the Virtues” Praying the Virtues is an Ignatian12 week scripture based prayer program developed to meet the desire of men and women for on-going spiritual growth as they respond to the

call to holiness and to a deeper commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord. It entails reading a particular scripture each day and praying with it for 15 minutes. We will meet once a

Saturday, September 10. The committee is cur rently looking
