LOAVES AND FISHES- Once again this year our parish will participate in Catholic Charities Loaves and Fishes campaign. As we prayerfully offer our Lenten sacrifices, please consider almsgiving as reflective of your sacrifices to the Loaves and Fishes collection weekly throughout Lent. Catholic Charities relies on our sacrificial generosity to help fund many of their programs. Envelopes can be found at all Church entrances.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS will begin on Friday, February 28 at 7:00pm and will continue each Friday during Lent. (No stations of Friday, March 27th) We will pray and meditate at each Station to commemorate the Passion of Christ and His sacrifice for us. All are welcome.

FORTY HOURS DEVOTION

Our annual Lenten 40 hours devotion of the Blessed Sacrament will begin this year on Thursday, March 26th at 3:00 p.m. in the

Church and will conclude on Saturday, March 28th at 8 a.m. with Mass. Please

consider signing up to “Spend One Hour” with Our Lord in Adoration. Participation will bring

many graces to you, your families, and our whole Parish Community. Sign up sheets are

available in the front entrance of the Church. THANK YOU for those that already have signed up! We need to have at least two people per hour to insure that at no time will the Blessed Sacrament be left unattended. Couples can signup together for the one hour!. What a great Lenten observation this would be for our

Parish! Please join us!

EASTER DUTY-The Obligation to receive Holy Communion and confess any serious sins at least Once a year during the Easter Season, between The first Sunday of Lent and Trinity Sunday.

LENT MASS SCHEDULE– Please note that our daily Mass schedule will remain unchanged Throughout the Season of Lent. Our daily Masses are: Monday through Thursday at 8am and Friday at 11 am. For those interested in an evening Mass throughout the season of Lent-St. Teresa’s offers a daily Mass at 5:30 pm, and St Catherine’s offer their daily mass at 6 pm.

COME JOIN US IN PRAYING THE ROSARY

Please join us in praying the Rosary every morning at 7:30 am before the 8am Mass, and on Mondays at 7:00 pm before Adoration, in the Church. Praying the Rosary is a Family Prayer and we encourage families to come and bring their children, and for all parishioners to pray the Rosary for our families and seek the blessings of Our Mother Mary on both themselves and our parish. A guide to praying the Rosary pamphlets are available in the Church entrances.

Rosary has resumed on Tuesdays at 7pm.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

Many of our parishioners have read the updates from Bishop Caggiano this week which is posted on the Diocesan Website (bridgeportdiocese.org) regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus )that

now is connected to the State of Connecticut and has been reported in and linked to Fairfield County. The Diocese of Bridgeport is continually monitoring the status of the virus in the Fairfield County community, consulting with health care professionals and experts when appropriate. We

will keep you informed of any updates relating to events at our parish as well as the Diocese.

The following is a list of Christ the King Parish events that have been cancelled or postponed

due to the Coronavirus:

Monthly Movie Night– Has been postponed, we will resume in the summer, date to be announced. Sunday Coffee & Pancake Breakfasts-Has been postponed, we will resume in the summer, date to be announced. St Patrick’s Dinner, Saturday, March 14th is cancelled this year. Lenten Dinner, Friday, March 27th is cancelled this year. Easter Egg Hunt & Party, Saturday April 4th, has been postponed, rescheduled date to be announced.

The following is a list of Diocesan events that have been

cancelled or postponed due to the Coronavirus:

The Mass of Anointing & Healing, scheduled for Saturday, March 21st has been re-scheduled to a later date to be announced. The Annual White Mass and Brunch, scheduled for Sunday March 22nd has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. The Mass of Hope, Healing and Reconciliation for Survivors of Sexual Abuse, scheduled for Sunday March 22nd has been rescheduled. The date will be announced.

Mandates from Bishop Caggiano for all parishes and Catholic Institutions in the Diocese until further notice:

Offering of the Precious Blood of Christ is to be suspended at all Masses. The Sign of Peace is to be exchanged without physical contact. Parishioners are to use some other gesture (nod of the head, smile or a spoken greeting) Holy Water Fonts will remain emptied and sanitized. Please remember, if you are exhibiting flu-like or cold symptoms, you are not obliged to attend Sunday Mass and avoid any public events if experiencing these symptoms. Also, the elderly and anyone with an underlying physical condition that would make them more susceptible to the Coronavirus are not obliged to attend Sunday Mass.
