MARK SHEA TALK

Dear parishioners, Happy Mothers Day to all our mothers and to those who fill that role for us! I know I was truly blessed to have a wonderful mother, who now is my star in heaven. She gave me the support I needed in life. In turn, the St. Vincent de Paul ministry strives to give support to our neighbors in need. With your con nued support, we are able to do just that. Thank you! As men oned last month, we have a special, one me request to ask of all of you for the May collec on only. The King County/Sea le SVDP Council has asked us to help St. Vincent de Paul ministries in greater need. We are aware that our south King County neighbors are struggling. The May plate collec on (only) will be our "Helping the Least of our Brethren" effort outside of our immediate neighborhood. Please be generous. We will let you know in the June ar cle how much that effort was, and we really thank you for your considera on in this. We could not do this without you! Seriously! Please remember to mark your special collec on envelopes for SVDP. And, please remember to shop at our local SVDP Thri Store. Together we can all serve "The Least of our Brethren". Happy Mothers Day! - Betsy Pierce, President, Christ the King St. Vincent de Paul Conference

As it is the second Sunday of the month we will take a second collec on for St. Vincent de Paul. Your generosity is much appreciated.

Celebra ng Sunday for Catholic Families May 14, 2017 Fi h Sunday of Easter

Reflec ng on the Word as a Family The Apostles have a hint that Jesus will not be with them much longer, as He describes his Father’s house as having many dwelling places. If the Apostles believe that Jesus is the ‘way’, then they know that He is the path toward salva on. And how wonderful the promise that the Apostles would perform even greater miracles than Jesus! On the way home from Mass today….. Do we belong to a parish community that shares the Good News? How do we know this?

On the way to Mass next weekend….. The Holy Spirit gives us support and comforts us with grace. Do we o en look to the Holy Spirit for help?
