Remembered fond by all he metHe taught God's Holy WordAnd was oft a frequent visitorWhen calamities occurred

He prayed with many an ailing chargeWhen sickness struck or worsePreached over many a saint gone homeIn victory o'er death's curse

He oversaw formationsOf the union, man and wifeBut none without a word or twoHow they should live their life

He with his dear wife JessieTo Oil Belt Camp would goWhere teaching children there of ChristHis slight of hand he'd show

He must have made two hundred ducksThat in the breeze would flyAnd though his step grew feebleGleamed that twinkle in his eye

He preached...Salvation found in Christ.. .The gift of man's freewill.. .Propitiation of the blood.. .The Cross on Calvary's hill

JANE PRIEST500 W. Highland Ave.Robinson, IL 62454

Ph.- 618-544-3517 ext 30

Jane was born in Warrensburg, MO in June of 1952 to a Christian family. They werecharter members of the Northside Christian Church in Warrensburg, MO, a church whichstarted with 18 people and now averages 700 in attendance. In 1970 she graduated fromKnob Noster High School in MO and enrolled in Central Christian College of the Bible,Moberly, MO. Later she finished her education at Lincoln Christian College. Later stillshe received a certificate in Montessori Education in St. Louis, MO.

She then spent 18 years as a Minister's wife serving churches in Missouri, Iowa, andIllinois. During that tune she was active as a teacher, VBS worker, and in ministry tofamilies. She then spent 8 years as Director of a Christian Child Care program at theLincoln (IL) Christian Church, and 5 years as Director of Education at Town andCountry Christian Church, Crown Point, IN.

Presently she is the Children's Minister at Highland Church of Christ, Robinson, ILwhere she has served since August, 2006. She has spoken and taught to local MOPSgroups, been VBS presenter for Standard Publishing Company, and been a speciallecturer on young children on the mission field in the Dominican Republic. Her ministrycontinues in Children's Conferences where needed and invited.

We are pleased to call attention to the ministries of these sisters inthe Lord. We have chosen them as samples of the rich and rewarding ser-vices dedicated Christian women have provided and are continuing to pro-vide. Kingdom Women indeed! The August issue of CHRISTIANITY TODAY car-ries a challenging article entitled "Why Women Want Moore" concerning thepublic teaching ministry of Beth Moore. In a recent appearance in Spring-field, Illinois the newspaper release reported:

"Before she begins, she addresses the few men in the crowd. ASouthern Baptist, Moore emphasizes that her ministry is intendedfor women, and that while the men are welcome, she has no desireto have any authority over them.

How correct of her, how sane, and how scriptural! Could she preach &teach to men? Of course she could. It has never been a question of a.-bility, but of suitability. Could Phebe, Dorcas, or Priscilla have beenpublic preacher/teachers in N.T. times? Could there have been a femaleApostle? Of course there could have been. But were there? No, there wasnot. The Bible plainly forbids it ((I Cor. 13:33,34 and I Tim. 2:12-15).And yet that same Apostle Paul commends the women who "labored in the gos-pel" with him (Phil 4:3) ,which proves there is important gospel work dis-tinct from the public preaching that he limits to men.

The above women, and many more like them, should be held in high honorand recognized for the special ministry they perform. So we do!
