Bringing fresh natural wood together with the raw look of felt, the Bloom Bench resembles the high contrasts frequently seen in nature. This bench is a thought provoking piece with multi-functional capabilities; as it transforms into a wall-mounted organizer for extra storage as required. The discoveries are endless. Given the simplicity in its design and complexity in its function, the Bloom Bench is a conversation piece that grows as you grow; adapting to your every move and need.

2lune dinnerware
LUNE Dinnerware provides an enhanced and more connected dining experience for Chinese seniors living in long-term care facilities. Typical western dinnerware does not suit their traditional eating behaviours, and may contribute to anxiety when making the transition from home to an institution. By creating vessels that are more culturally famil-iar through forms and symbols, raised to promote better posture and thermal for keeping food warm, Chinese seniors are more likely to enjoy their meals in a communal setting.

With backgrounds in theatre, industrial design and sculpture, Greyson, Lieu, and Lo have come together to create room 202. Inuenced by natural cycles, a fascination with collections, and an all around interest in cultivating stories of existing human-ity, the trio have put their magical touch on a room that will take you to another world ‐ a place like no other ‐ where stories unfold and new experiences are shared. In order to continue this trail of treasures lost and now found, will you partake in the foreign exchange with them?

The Starburst Light is a whimsical and ambient light constructed entirely from Styrofoam plates gathered after a potluck. The concept was conceived from the inspiring idea of upcycling and creating a second life for objects that are too often disposed of. By upcycling Styrofoam, the value of its lifecycle has increased; in which the user will hope-fully develop a new appreciation for commonly disregarded materials.
Given the opportunity to work hands-on with the iDAPT Technology Team, I was challenged to work collaboratively to build a scale model prototype representing an extension of the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. The result was gratifying as the model is now displayed at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and was a main feature in edition +7 from a series of Annual Research Reports.

5money pockets
The Money Pocket Wallets were featured at MADE Design’s Annual Design Exhibit called Radiant Dark during Toronto’s. The theme for 2010 was Assets & Values, as it was also cleverly cited in the Financial District’s Commerce Court West lobby. The glasshouse gallery show could be spotted from the streets and the literal connection between the theme and the location drew in crowds.

Money Pockets (wallets)fabri c; 5" × 8"
A ticket system called Liang Piao replaced the use o f money in China from the 1950 s–1980s. Used to pur -chase essential items su ch as rice and fabric , these ti ckets created a sense of value that is la cking in society
today. Money Pockets transgress the notion o f proprietary items by integrating Canadian values into modern day Liang Piao ti cket s. Lieu employs imagery whi ch places lit -eral value on the Money Pocket s, in turn leading us to be more conscious of spending habits and needless consumption , fostering new ethical principles o f true worth .
Christine Lieu is a recent graduate of the Industrial Design Program at Ontario College of Art and Design. With a love for the whimsical, Christine maintains an interest in crafts, and continues to experiment with a variety of materials. Her ability to absorb and analyse her surroundings enables her to synthesize information into outcomes which have a voice and presence of their own.

inspiration/discovery
Discussing life in China thirty years ago, my aunt told me about a unique currency system consisting of tickets called Leung Pew that were allotted to families depending on size and, wealth, which replaced money for the purchase of rice, oil and fabrics, etc. This government-regulated ticket system reintroduced a sense of the value of essential goods that is not apparent today.
My aunt was generous enough to lend me her collection of Liang Pao tickets, dating back to the 1980’s, for inspiration. Their texture, colour and worn look inspired me to bridge the gap between the history of the tickets and connecting it to the Canadian interpretation of the valuable ticket system.

heys handbags
The Yorkville handbag is just one out of many projects I have worked on at HEYS Handbags. The following pages will show you some process work, nal samples being uploaded
on the website, website design as well as advertising campaigns.
The Yorkville was inspired by Audrey Hepburn - classic elegance meets quality with a contemporary twist shown in the rope top handle. The custom hardware was all designed
with the HEYS International higher-end brand in mind. Even the protective feet at the bottom are squared to match the edges of the this silhouette and debossed with H’s to represent the brand.
