Throughout Advent and into the New Year, the Lucerne – Lake Lucerne Region presents fabulous events and activities featuring a wealth of Christmas cheer and winter atmosphere.

Enjoy the run-up to Christmas with traditional seasonal events such as the Samichlausauszug (Father Christmas Procession), Klausjagen (Nicholas Chase) and Sternsingen (Christmas Carolling). Lucerne City sparkles with Christmas lights: warm up with mulled wine at the Christmas markets or discover Lucerne at Christmas on our "Pine Boughs and Bright Lights"

In Europaplatz, skate on the Live on Ice rink after a hearty raclette while admiring the views of the city, the lake and the mountains. If you prefer to take things a little easier, why not join other spectators at the international Lucerne Cup ice hockey tournament?

Catch the spectacular firework display over the bay on New Year's Day and succumb to the enchantment of the Light Festival Lucerne in January.

Jeder Rappen zählt (Every Cent Counts), 15 – 21 December 2018Donate to a good cause. Swiss Radio and Television is again joining forces with the charity Swiss Solidarity to organise the Every Cent Counts fundraising campaign, 15 – 21 December 2018. The donations will be used to help children abroad and in Switzerland in need of shelter or a home. You are invited to place your donations in person in the special glass box on Lucerne's Europaplatz.
