Dear Friends, At the top of the world, Alaska tilts away from the sun in the winter. The accompanying darkness and bitter cold can reflect, metaphorically, the spiritual symptoms of this Great Land, as well. Alaska Missions and Retreats is committed to bringing light into the darkness, and to melting hostility to Christianity. Our staff of committed missionaries are on the ground year-round, along with short term mission teams, making a difference in Christ's name. We at Alaska Missions are pressing on toward the finish line, bringing light to our part of the globe, Alaska. Join us in our calling; help us reach Alaska for Christ by sponsoring a Christmas Gift to Alaska. May the Lord open His floodgates to you, Brenda

This past summer our dear musher friends Jaime & Justin High and Mike & DeeDee Jonrowe lost their kennels and homes to a consuming wildfire in Willow, Alaska. Alaska Missions and Retreats had the opportunity to serve in a very tangible way. Volunteers were mobilized to aid in the cleanup, recovery and rebuilding efforts. Local churches from Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia and as far east as West Virginia sent teams. In the midst of this crisis and at a moment's notice, men, women, children and our summer interns answered the call to serve. It was hot, tiring work, but volunteers served with determination and a joyful heart. Please continue to pray as there is still work to be done in Willow.

In an effort to stem the epidemic of childhood hunger, Alaska Missions helps provide meals to children under the age of eighteen in the villages and local anchorage parks. We facilitate this summer food service program through our Mission Anchorage Project and Native Village Volunteers. Your donation of $10 helps send a box lunch to a hungry child in Alaska. By meeting this physical need we are able to build relationships and share the message of the Gospel. SUGGESTED GIFT $10

With close to seven months of winter the people of Alaska experience bitter winter conditions. With below freezing temperatures, to months of complete darkness, spiritual and physical, most of Alaska is beyond the reach of the road system. Many basic physical needs are hard to acquire and incredibly costly. Alaska Missions has equipped children and adults with warm jackets and other winter clothing. We want to do whatever we can to meet the needs, break down walls, and earn the privilege of sharing the gospel. For $50 we can furnish jackets and other winter clothing for families through out rural Bush Alaska. SUGGESTED GIFT $50

Help us ship care packages to the village women shelter’s and safe houses. Most women when they come into the shelter have nothing with them. Care packages will be filled with toiletries, Christian literature, clothing and food. Sometimes women come with children, so we have the ability to customize a care package with children clothes and toys. Your gift of $40 will provide a care package to a woman who has left everything in search of fresh start. This small act of love reaches the heart of these women opening a door for us to share freedom in Christ. SUGGESTED GIFT $40

January in Alaska is dark, cold, and isolated. Be a part of bringing light into a physically and spiritually dark place. Three tribal regions intersect in the Nome area: Y'upik, Siberian Y'upik and Inupiaq. For $10,000 we can continue to host the annual Native Alaska Women's Conference. This conference presents the message of freedom in Christ and equips women to bring this newfound freedom back to their families and home villages. Our goal is to help women hear the voice of God and speak truth over lies they believe about themselves, God and past abuses. SUGGESTED GIFT $10,000 SHARE THE COST $100

We are honored to have the opportunity to present Alaska Missions Warrior Summit. In 2016, we will offer our first retreat, Alaska Men’s Warrior Summit. We want to show our deepest thanks by making it possible for men to participate in a ministry developed to bring hope and healing to men impacted by the by stress of deployment and to those dealing with injuries seen and unseen. Through your gift, all costs will be covered —including transportation, lodging, and activities— so that these warriors can enjoy a refreshing week away, to strengthen their personal lives and draw them closer to the Lord. Alaska Missions & Retreats host a pastor conference in the fall where we invite pastors from across the state for a time of growth and development. Most pastors have to travel to the lower 48 to be part of any type of conference. This unique opportunity gives pastors a chance to remain within the sate. Your donation of $30 will help provide valuable resources to pastors all over the state who have limited access and funds to obtain Christian literature and resources. By encouraging and empowering pastors we are growing our church partnerships and relationships to encourage the discipleship of believers. SUGGESTED GIFT $30
