CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY PARADE RECAP
Friday, November 18th, lit the way for Christmas to come to Bonham with the 2016 Christmas Holiday Parade and Festival. The weather has been uncooperative this year, but that didn’t stop us from bringing off the event as a success. There were roughly 60 entries in the parade and two sides of the square were filled with vendors and free craft booths for the kids. Thanks to Fix and Feed a new, Christmas gaze-bo went up beside the tree which made a great setting for photos with Santa. Something else new and exciting this year is we hired professional videographers to record the parade and it will be available on DVD! Keep your ears open for how to get a copy!
Our Christmas parade committee gave another stellar year of commitment and hard work. We owe a lot of thanks to Kristy Agerlid, of First United
Bank, and Melissa Wallace of Bonham Chrysler for leading the committee, but also the hours and hours of personal time and effort they have poured into this event, both this year and in past years, from planning meetings and fundraising to elf costumes and window painting. Kelly Wil-son of Senior Care Centers and Deana Staton of Legend Bank have also given lots of help and we were happy to have Melody Hammett of Rebel Roots Bou-tique come on board with us for the event this year too. Matt Titsworth and Randy Pendergrass manned the MC mics for us this year, with the Bonham Communi-ty Band providing the music, and Chi Lambda hosting the tree lighting.
You can’t have a parade without floats, and Bonham upped their showmanship once again. Thank you for such a fes-
tive turnout! Congratulations to 1st Place: Bonham Hardware, 2nd Place: Living Word Church and 3rd: Bonham Chrysler. Special thanks to our special panel of judges: Senator Bob Hall, Judge Spanky Carter and Bonham Chrys-ler’s Burton Gilliam. Find more pictures here: Bonham Parade.
And finally, the sparkle and activi-ties could not go one without the continued financial support from our sponsors. Merry Christmas to you all!

Building on our Past
2017 Annual Chamber Awards Banquet
Circle February 25th on your 2017 calendar for the Annual
Bonham Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet. We will
soon be taking recommendations for the different award cate-
gories.
Returns from last year: dinner, presentation of awards, auc-
tion, and table decorating competition. (Who will be the 2017 Table Décor Champion and take
the Championship plaque home for the year?)
New to 2017: The banquet committee is organizing a type of mini wine stroll for the mix and
mingle portion of the evening. Multiple wineries will be present for attendees to sample and
enjoy. Further details about this feature will be posted closer to the event.
2016 saw the Bonham Chamber of
Commerce, through the effort and ex-
pertise of Homestead Winery’s Saman-
tha Lumpkins, hosting its first annual
Holiday Wine Stroll and Taste of Bon-
ham. Despite the cold and the wet, attendance ex-
ceeded expectations with over 50 participants! This
event would be impossible, and impossibly dreary, without our wine vendors, our restaurants providing hors d’ oeu-
vres, and our hosting merchants drawing in the community and serving up such a successful event. We thank
all those that contributed or participated and look forward to growing this event and seeing its full potential.
2016 Holiday Wine Stroll & Taste of Bonham
Thank you to everyone that par-
ticipated in making our Square
look festive!
Orders for new lollipops are no
longer being taken, but the
Chamber can still put up your lolli-
pop from last year for $25
