ISRAEL FUN
FACTS: Long and narrow
and shape, the country is about 290 miles (470 km.) in length and 85 miles (135 km.) in width
at its widest point. Although small in size, Israel encompasses the varied topographical features
of an entire continent... "a country of immigrants. Since its inception in 1948, Israel's popula-
tion has grown five-fold. "About 91% of Israel’s inhabitants live in some 200 urban centers.
In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Japan, the organized
Jewish world is lining up support for the rescue and relief effort in the
region. Congregation Ohav Sholom joins these forces to raise monies to
help the disaster victims. You can send in a contribution online to
http://www.ujafedny.org/japan-quake-fund/ or send in checks to the
Rabbi's charity fund earmarked Japan Relief Campaign. May G-d be our
shadow (Psalm 130) and grant benevolance and healing to the victims.
We were all horrified to hear of the brutal and cowardly murder
of five members of the Fogel family, including a three month old
baby, as they slept in their homes Friday night in Itamar Israel.
Ohav Sholom joins the Orthodox Union in collecting funds to
support the three orphans of the Fogel family. You may donate
online at http://www.ou.org/terrorfund or bring checks in to the
Rabbi's charity fund earmarked Israel Terror Victims. May G-d
be our shadow (Psalm 130) and grant benevolance and healing
to the victims.
