*Elder Selection Process*
October 13th, 20th & 27th- Mike will preach on the N.T. concept of
elders, the character traits needed, the specific roles elders are
called to do, etc.
October 27th-November 10th- During this time the church will be
challenged to “look out among themselves” as Acts 6 says for the
kind of men that the N.T. describes as elders, shepherds, overseers
and turn in a form to the elders for those they are nominating.
November 10th-24th- The elders/ministers will have discussions
with the men nominated and their wives to try and determine
those that would best fit in the Landmark Church. During this
same time, the congregation will be encouraged to go directly to
any of the men nominated with any concerns they may have.
November 24th-December 7th- This will be a time for those who
have come through the process thus far to pray and really try and
discern through prayer, study, conversation whether they desire to
do the work of an elder/shepherd/overseer here at Landmark
Sunday, December 8th- Have an installation service for the
additional shepherds in which the preacher and elders speak,
commission, challenge, thank, and pray for the selected men.
