This Saturday, the high school seniors will be honored

at the 5:00pm Mass followed by a dinner with their

families. Please keep these young adults in your prayers as they

begin the next chapter of their lives. Whether they choose to

continue on with their education, join the military or become

part of the workforce, may they always remember to stay strong

in their faith and trust in the plan God has for them.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,

“plans to prosper you and not to harm you,

plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

    God Bless Martha

We welcome into the Family of God:

Dylan Robert Young, child of Derrick and Kelly

    (Flannagan) Young. Congratulations!!

St. Mary Preschool - Chalk Box

We have been busy winding down the school year!

The year began with the students getting to know one another.

We continued that theme this week again as we brought items

for the last Show & Tell of the school year! We reviewed all of

our ABC’s, had our height and weight measurements taken,

practiced rhyming, and enjoyed the company of our friends!

Our Year 1 students made a special trip to Dairy Queen to make

their very own ice cream cones! Yum! Yum! We love coming

to school and sharing all of these fun experiences with our

    friends!

    ~Ms. Holly

    Dear Parish Family,

Each Mass during the prayers of the faithful we ask for an increase of vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. During the past few

years we have had the privilege of seminarians working in our parishes as they develop their priestly skills while attending Saint

    Meinrad.

I have gotten to know these young men over the years. Each is a good man and each brings their own unique skills to the ministry of the

Church. This Year Deacon Chris Droste will be ordained to the Priesthood on June 8th at the Cathedral. Currently there are 12 Seminari-

ans studying for the Diocese of Evansville. Please continue to pray for all seminarians and those discerning a vocation.

The religious also need good candidates to be either a sister or brother. These vocations are vital to our Catholic Community. I look back

and give thanks to God for the priests and Sisters that taught me so much about my faith and about life. We also have been blessed by the

healthcare that many religious provided for our country through the years.

I challenge each one of you to support vocations. I encourage you to support vocations by getting to know seminarians and novices and

pray for them. One way which you can do this is talking with seminarians when they return to St. Mary’s and Precious Blood in the Fall.

    Keep all in your prayers.

There clearly is a seedbed of vocation in Dubois County. We must support these young men and women to be the person God created

them to be. Is you see a person that displays leadership qualities and is active in the faith, ask them if they thought of a vocation. Re-

search indicates the main reason young people never consider a vocation to priesthood or religious life is because they were never asked.

Invite them to think pray and discern their vocation. Write the names down of young people that you think would make a good priest or

religious and pray for those people daily.

The most important thing you can do for vocations is to live out your own vocation with holiness and boldness. May the Patron of our

Diocese intercede for us; Mary send us vocations to serve the good people of the Diocese. The Diocese also has a program to help those

discerning a vocation. The program is “Called by name.” If you know of a young man or woman that would make a good candidate

please contact my office at 482-4461.

In honor of all veterans and public servants, The Annual Shiloh

Gathering will be held on Sunday, May 26 at 1:30pm at the

Shiloh Meeting House on 4060 W Shiloh Road near Ireland. The

program will be highlighted by the Red Bank Reunion Band, Indi-

ana’s only on going Civil War Band, from Evansville. Desserts

will be served after the meeting. Come bring a friend, a dessert,

and enjoy a historical event. All are welcome!

The Family of Angie Weidenbenner would like to express

their deepest gratitude to all who gave their time and contribu-

tions during her passing. We would like to especially thank

Father Gary Kaiser and Father Ken Betz for a lovely service,

Laura Witte and Gregory DuPont for the beautiful music, all

those that participated in the Mass and the parish staff for all

they did. Thank you to those that gave food and money, espe-

cially at the funeral home and bereavement meal. Finally,

thank you for all the prayers and support to our family. God

    Bless. Angie Weidenbenner Family

Called by Name - It can be difficult to hear God’s voice speaking to

us today. Let’s help each other by pointing out how God might be

calling our friends, family members and fellow parishioners to con-

sider a call to the priesthood or religious life. Go online and submit

the name of an individual between the ages of 15 and 45 who you

think would make a good priest or religious brother or sister. Check

out the website: www.StationForVocations.org. Follow the

“Called By Name” link to make your submission and to tell us why

you think that individual would make a good priest or religious. This

program is sponsored by the Diocese of Evansville Vocation Office.
