Blessed Titus Brandsma Carmelite and Priest

Martyred: 26 July 1942

Dear Parishioners, Titus Brandsma, labored zealously and gave his life freely because of his faith. Father Titus never refused when he was asked for help. May we live every day guided by his example of great faith, generous love, and burning zeal. During World War II, Father Titus was the chaplain of the Catholic newspapers in the Netherlands. He died in Dachau because he encouraged the editors to refuse to allow the Nazis to publish anti-Semitic propaganda. He also encouraged them to publish a letter from Pope Pius XI. Father Titus was arrested and imprisoned in several Nazi camps, finally offer-ing his life as a martyr in Dachau. Blessed Titus re-minds us that, even in the most difficult times, we live always in the Presence of God. May all the Saints and Blesseds of Carmel pray for us! The Carmelites

Beato Tito Brandsma Carmelita y Sacerdote

Martirizado: 26 Julio 1942 Estimados Feligreses, Tito Brandsma, trabajó celosamente y dió su vida libremente por su fe. El Padre Tito nunca se negó cuando le pidieron ayuda. Que vivamos todos los días guiados por su ejemplo de gran fe, amor genero-so y celo ardiente. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, el Padre Tito era el capellán del periódico católico en los Países Bajos. El murió en Dachau porque animó a los edito-res del periódico a que no permitieran que los Nazis publicaran propaganda antisemita. El también los animó a publicar una carta del Papa Pio XI. El Padre Tito fue arrestado y fue prisionero de varios campos de concentración Nazi, finalmente ofreciendo su vida como mártir en Dachau. El Beato Tito nos recuerda que, aun en los tiempos mas difíciles, siempre vivi-mos en la Presencia de Dios. Que todos los santos y beatos de Carmelo rueguen por nosotros! Los Carmelitas

Prayer to Our Lady during this covid 19 Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children. We ask you to intercede for us with your Son, as you did at the wedding in Cana. Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our nation and world, and for all our families and loved ones, the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst of this illness. For those already af-flicted, we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance. Hear the cries of those who are vulnera-ble and fearful, wipe away their tears and help them to trust. In this time of trial and testing, teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be pa-tient and kind. Help us to bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to our hearts.
