Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:10—13, 17 Paul speaks to the Corinthians with both anger and indignation because they are quarreling among themselves as to whom they should show allegiance. Some wish to follow Paul; some, Peter; others Apollos; others, Christ.
Gospel: Matthew 4:12-23 Jesus begins his mission by going to Capernaum, fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah. He selects Peter, Andrew, James and John as his disciples, inviting them to be “fishers of men.”

MARCH FOR LIFE BUS TRIP Friday, January 27th, 2017 marks the 44th Anniver-sary of the Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion during all nine months of a woman’s pregnancy. St. Mary’s Parish in Katonah, will again be sponsoring a bus to take parishioners to the March for Life in Washington, DC. The March is a wonderful demonstration in support of the sanctity of all human life and is truly a worthwhile experience. The bus will leave St. Mary’s School at 6:00 am and is expected to return at approximately 11:00 pm. The bus will again be stopping at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for Mass after the March. A contribution of $40 ($20 for students) is suggested to defray the cost of the bus. If you will not be able to travel with us, maybe you would like to sponsor someone by donating the cost of one or more seats? Also, if you do not have the funds, come anyway - your presence is needed! We expect a full bus, so make your reservation ASAP. Call Alan Mehldau at 232-1168 for details and to reserve a seat on the bus.

The world was a playground for Mickey, a naive Irish American kid bored with his life. His father served in World War II, his brother was a Marine in Vietnam; now it was his turn. His 365 days in Vietnam builds in torment until an attack on a bunker complex in Cambodia. Wounded, his friend captured, he becomes a tormented survivor knowing he is always just a heartbeat from death.
In this memoir, set as deeply in his mind as in the Southeast Asian jungle, a young American soldier embarks
on a journey to a war that, for him, will never be over.
