Twinned Parish News
All Saints Day Masses Masses will be on
Thursday, October 31
st
at 7:00 PM at Assumption
and on Friday, November 1
st
at 12:00 noon at St.
Anthony’s. All Saints Day is a Holy Day of Obligation.
Music Director announcement Amanda
Steichen has been hired as the Director of Music
and Liturgy to work with both Assumption and St.
Anthony parishes in order to unify and combine the
musical efforts and talent of both parishes. Amanda
is a member of St. Anthony's parish and comes to
us with choir directing experience in a multiple
parish setting in the Diocese of Lacrosse,
Wisconsin. She is also the orchestra teacher at
Cathedral High School. We are excited to have
Amanda lead us! Please give her a warm welcome
and prayerfully support her work for our parishes.
(See Amanda’s introduction message on page 4)
10th Grade Parent & Student Meeting
Wed. Oct. 30 There will be a meeting on
Wednesday, October 30th, for both Parents AND
Students from 10th grade to learn about the two
year Confirmation program. The meeting will start
at 6:35 pm and will hopefully take only an hour. It
will take place in the Faith Formation Center at St.
Anthony. If you aren’t able to make this meeting,
we will need to set up a separate time for you and
your student to meet with Father Aaron and Christy
to cover the content. Please let the Faith Formation
office know if you won’t be able to make it.
Mom's Morning - Saturday, Nov 2
nd
All
moms are welcome to come join us for breakfast,
spiritual growth, prayer, and fellowship. The next
time we will meet is on Saturday, November 2nd,
6:30 am - 8:00 am. We will meet at the St. Anthony
Rectory. Come as you are, relax, and enjoy
breakfast! RSVP At the Faith Formation Office.
Are you ready for Steubenville 2020?
The theme this summer is RESTORED! The
Steubenville Conference is for students currently in
grades 8-12. We will be traveling to St. Paul for the
Steubenville conference this summer, July 24-July
26. Registration opens November 13, and we want
to have you come with us! Your life will be
changed! Please reach out to the Faith Formation
Office if you are interested in attending this
conference so we can plan for your spot and keep
you in the know about fundraising opportunities.
Eucharistic Adoration Testimonials!
“One word describes my experience in the adoration
chapel - beautiful! People often tell me they pray at
home, or wherever they are. I do, too. But praying
in the adoration chapel is something so special
-something you won’t fully understand unless you
give it a try.” -Tammy Winter
“Last night (Sunday, Oct. 13) at the confirmation
meeting the topic was on prayer. Father Aaron
opened with prayer and explained the importance
of prayer to our lives and that to the Church. He
talked about different ways a person can pray and
the importance to take time to pray in silence and
away from distraction. One of the ways to do this is
in the adoration chapel where a person takes an hour
in the presence of Jesus to pray and listen.
Following Father Aaron, Heidi Schoenecker gave her
testimony of her struggle with her sick daughter
Kennedy and the unexplained multiple miracles that
occurred. Being an adorer during this time I prayed
especially hard for the Schoeneckers. Hearing Heidi
made me feel the little sacrifice I made probably
made an impact on how the outcome turned out.
This is only one of many answers to prayer I have
seen.” -Ron Ruhland
We would like to strengthen our regular Eucharistic
Adoration hours, add to our sub lists, and hopefully
increase our adoration hours at both St. Anthony
and Assumption parishes.
If interested in signing up for an hour call:

Vocations Panel - November 6th
The community of St. Anthony and Assumption are
welcomed and encouraged to join the St. Anthony
Faith Formation classes for a Vocation Panel on
Wednesday, November 6th, 6:35-7:30 in the Main
Hall of the St. Anthony Faith Formation Center. We
will be hearing from many different vocations that
evening and it should be a learning experience for
us all! Come with questions!

Assumption Cemetery News Tess Thielen is stepping down as a
Cemetery Board member. Tess has been on the Assumption Cemetery
Board since inception approximately 27 years ago. We are so grateful
and thank Tess for all her hard work and dedication as part of our
cemetery board. Tess your rewards will be out of this world!
November is Food Shelf Month
"Let us join together to “Feed the Hungry". The Faith Formation
program at Assumption is collecting non-perishable food items during
the month of November for Food Shelf month. Help us feed the hungry
by sending your child with a food item or placing it in the baskets at
church. Cash donations are also welcome, simply mark an envelope "Food
Shelf" and drop into the collection basket or bring to religion class.
Parish Council Members Thank you to Tom Scherer and Chris
Bischof for serving on the parish council for the past 3 years. Two new
members are needed to begin with the January 30th meeting. If you are
in your 20’s or in your 60’s or older, please consider volunteering. Or if
you know of someone who may be interested please let Father Aaron
know. Father will confirm your willingness to serve before putting your
name on the ballot. Voting will take place by mid-November. Contact the
parish office or Father Aaron if interested.
New Knights of Columbus Council A new Knights of Columbus
Council has been formed at the Assumption Church in Eden Valley. The
current membership is 23 men. During October we want to increase that
number to 40 or more men. All who become members before November
15 will have their name listed on the Charter which will be framed and
become a permanent record for the new council and the parish.
Completed membership forms can be let at the church or given to an
usher. For additional information contact Gene Hippe at 686-0142.

A Message From Amanda
Hi! My name is Amanda Steichen. I wanted to introduce myself and
my new role as music and liturgy coordinator. It’s amazing where God
leads you if you stay open to what he has planned. I never thought this
was where God was leading me to but I’m excited to see what He has in
store :)
My husband, Ryan and I have been married for seven years. We have
three children- Andrew, who is almost 5; Thomas, who is 20 months; and
Felicity who just turned 10 months old. I work at Cathedral High School
in St. Cloud teaching high school and middle school orchestra as well as
the catholic elementary schools. This year I’m at 5 elementary schools.
As the music and liturgy coordinator, I will coordinate schedules at
both Assumption and St. Anthony for cantors, musicians, and soon to be
choir members by working together to select music that fits our liturgies
and maximizes the praise we give God each week in the Mass. Music is a
very important part of every Mass, which is why we would like to have as
many people as possible involved. It would be great if everyone would
consider their talents and contribute where you are able whether that's
as a cantor, a member of the choir, or as a member of the singing
congregation.
We will be forming a new unified choir that will be joining our voices
together to sing at both parishes on a rotating schedule. Please watch the
bulletin when practices will start. As I start this new journey, I ask for your
prayers and support in helping us all grow in our faith through music.
If you would like to be trained as a cantor, please let me know. My
email is [email protected] or cell- 320-221-1922.

Traveling Chalice and Madonna
IT IS GOD REALLY GOD HIMSELF, the 'LORD of
the harvest', who chooses his laborers. His call is
always undeserved and unexpected. We are called
to cooperate with his providence, and to use the
powerful tool which he has placed in our hands:
prayer. Jesus said 'pray the Lord of the harvest to
send our laborers into his harvest!". Sincere
appreciation to Rosie Becker and Darren Becker for
hosting the Traveling Chalice this week. May these
prayers multiply many new workers in the field!
