Pastor Mary Anne’s Message:
We continue to discuss the questions of faith that you asked and this month the questions are quite literally, questions of faith.
“How do I know if I have enough faith and how do I know if God is pleased with what I do with helping others. Am I to do more?”
We have more than enough faith from God – Faith is a gift from God to us. Our struggle is with our belief; this struggle is depicted throughout scripture by some of our most beloved” heroes” of faith. We view Abraham, David, Joseph, Mary, Peter and others as godly like people, but they struggled in their belief. This struggle is part of our human nature. In fact, I would say that if you don’t struggle at times you may not be taking your spiritual life se-riously!
God knows what we are capable of doing. God calls us to serve others, us-ing the gifts that he has given us. God challenges and pushes us at times. We do not help others to please God; we help others as a result of what God has done for us. In other words, we do not earn God’s love or favor by doing works. At the same time, God calls us to serve and is pleased when we re-spond to his love with love toward others.
The gifts we have to help others may change throughout our life. If you feel that you should be doing more or even something different, pray and ask God how you can help. Ask questions in your church and community about what some unfulfilled needs are; you might be surprised where God might be leading you.
In Christ,
Pastor Mary Anne

treat where children come to a parking lot
where people provide candy from their car's trunks. You may wish
to decorate your car or trunk, but it is not necessary! We would like
to have as many "cars" participate as possible, so we will be having
a sign up sheet for you to participate. We would also like you to in-
vite family and neighbors to come and bring their children. The
Fellowship Committee will be providing hotdogs and drinks! Please come and be a part of this fun experience for the whole
family!

Concordia Community Pancake Breakfast
As part of our continuing mission with God in caring for His crea-tion, WE serve a monthly FREE pancake breakfast for our commu-nity members in need of a good breakfast and fellowship. We offer this breakfast on the first Saturday of each month from 8:30 – 10:30; Oct 5, Nov 2, Dec 7. In order to accomplish this we are asking everyone to help. We would like 2 or more families to sign up, as a team, and be our monthly sponsor. This means you would purchase the food needed (less than $40) and host the breakfast for the month you volunteered to do. If making pancakes is not your thing on a Sat-urday morning…that’s OK. We will provide a cook, but we still ask you to help host the breakfast. If we all participate it means only making a commitment eve-ry couple years! A sign-up sheet for 2019 is posted in the West Narthex. A shopping list is avail-able, but check for supplies in the kitchen before shopping for more.. (Host still needed for December.) Please direct any questions to Cheryl Milbourne, Wayne Hoffman or Pastor Mary Anne.
Blessing of the Hunters!
Saturday & Sunday, September 21st and 22rd will be Blessing of the
Hunters. All hunters will receive a special blessing and Blessing Tag
for them to carry.
Social Ministry would like to thank all those who so generously
contributed to the School, Personal Care, and Fabric Kits. We
have a record number of Kits this year!
SPECIAL THANKS to John Ferrick who continues to take especially good
care of the vegetable garden, planting, weeding, harvesting, and tak-
ing vegetables to the Hershey Mill Home! Thanks also to Tammy Walter
and family for additional weeding and trimming of the church grounds.
