For years this vi- brant partner of Love INC has been operating out of an historic home on the corner lot of their property. Here the tireless team led by Bob and Mary Eastman and their band of servants from Zoar and other congregations, served 178 families in 2014, providing furniture, linens and household goods. Twice a week families pull up to the church to collect a dresser for clothes that have been in boxes, or beds for the family transitioning out of a shelter into a place of their own, throw in blankets and pans for cooking, and now it feels like home. The new space will provide roll up doors for covered access as well as ease in loading and unloading. It has been a running joke among the volunteers that the item requested by the next family will be the piece in the back be- hind the 3 mattresses, dresser and sofa. With the added space, furniture pieces can be stationed and more easily retrieved. Floor to ceiling racks will allow for more order and provide better inventory control, bedding by sizes and household items by type. Through church giving, fundraising and individual donations this dream is becom- ing a reality. There were 1207 students in Clackamas County whose fami-lies struggled to obtain permanent housing in 2014; Love INC community of churches, businesses and other organizations want to be an encouragement to these families by doing a new shoe drive for students as they enter school in the Fall of 2015. Through donations of individuals, churches and lo-cal businesses we hope to demonstrate in this small way that they are important members of our community and we want good for them.

To accomplish this work we have invited local church part-ners throughout the 10 school districts of Clackamas County to be a collection and/or distribution site for these shoes. Love INC will coordinate the registered students and distrib-ute the shoes to the churches within each district. Churches are invited to welcome families with activities to celebrate the value and dignity of each person participating. Perhaps a barbeque and games, or a raffl e for prizes, or cookies and punch to provide a welcoming place to celebrate the com-munity spaces we share.

Soon we will publish details and collection sites at our web-site (http://www.clackamasloveinc.org) and FB page (love INC of Clackamas County).
