6th Grade Registration Information6th Grade Teacher Advisory - All 6th grade students are required to take Teacher Advisory class. This class helps to prepare 6th graders for their junior high experience by teaching them study skills, organizational skills and social skills. First semester only.6th Grade Elective Rotation - All 6th Graders are given 4 electives: PE, Exploratory Music 6, Exploratory Drama 6 and Exploratory Art 6; each for one quarter. Regular or Honors? - Churchill students can sign up for either regular or honors classes. There is no testing or teacher approval needed. It is recommended that students discuss with their parents and possibly their current teacher to determine whether to take honors or regular classes. The honors classes are more rigorous and will typically be taught at a faster pace. Gifted/Talented Classes? - All 5th grade students in Granite will be tested for the GT classes. Results of these tests will be distributed to the junior highs and students will be placed appropriately. Qualifying students will be notified via letter from the boundary junior high in early May.Electives - We will make an effort to give students their top ranked electives. Due to the high number of specialized programs and our small school size, students may not get their first choice. We work very hard to give our students their highest ranked electives possible.
