What is CICORE?
• CICORE is a distributed coastal ocean observatory comprised of 10 (of 23) CSU campuses - others will join.
• CICORE focuses on the near-coastal regions, including wetlands, harbors, estuaries
• CICORE emphasizes three technologies:– In situ sensors with high temporal resolution
– Benthic mapping and characterization.
– Hyperspectral digital imagery of shallow water and the coast

– Presently collected at four sites• Humboldt State University
– Commercial pier “B” and Trinidad Head• San Francisco State University/Romberg Tiburon Center
– RTC waterfront• Moss Landing Marine Laboratories

– Unical pier in San Luis Bay
– New sites to be added 2005 in southern California• OSI/SCMI/CSULB
