The story ACT 1
Fairy G says hello to everyone. Fairy G is a
good fairy, and Fairy Godmother to
Cinderella, Baron Hardup’s daughter. She
sings a song.
Prince Charming is in town with his friend
Dandini. You can say ‘oh yes we are’ when
you disagree with the Prince.
Prince Charming wants to meet someone to
become his girlfriend. They sing a song. As
Dandini is already popular with women, they
decide to swap clothes. Prince Charming
pretends to be the confident Dandini to
meet more women, and Dandini pretends to
be Prince Charming to help his friend.
We meet Baron Hardup. He is the Mayor of
Finchley, and Cinderella’s father. He sings a
song. Baron says hello, and you can say
‘hello’ back.
Baron welcomes the audience members
with special messages. Baron is hosting a ball
for Prince Charming’s visit.
We meet Buttons, Baron Hardup’s Palace
employee. Baron asks Buttons to help set up
for the ball. Buttons will ask the audience
questions, and you can answer. You can also
join in here and say ‘Bash them Buttons!’
when Buttons needs your help.
10
Buttons shares that he has romantic feelings
for Cinderella, but she does not feel the
same way. We meet Cinderella. Cinderella is
dreaming of someone else. They sing a song.
Rubella De Zees arrives in town. She is the
baddy. You can boo her. Baron is excited to
meet his new love Rubella. He introduces
Rubella to his daughter Cinderella and
Buttons. They sing a song.
Rubella introduces us to her daughters
Hernia and Verruca, known as the Ugly
Sisters. They are loud and rude and mean.
You can boo them. You can also join in and
say ‘oh no you’re not!’ to disagree with
them.
Cinderella meets Prince Charming at the well
but does not know it is him because he is still
disguised as Dandini. There is an instant
romantic attraction between them. They sing
a song. He tells her he will come back with
an invitation to the Ball.
11
Hernia and Verruca, the Ugly Sisters, sing a
song. They meet Dandini who is disguised
Prince Charming. They take a shine to him
but he does not feel the same. To
encourage them to leave he gives them
invitations to the Ball. They are very excited
about it!
Cinderella and Buttons work with the Ugly
Sisters to help them get ready for the ball.
They sing a song.
Cinderella is disappointed that the Prince
has not come back with her invitation, so
Fairy G appears. She uses her magic to make
an invitation. Fairy G transforms Cinderella’s
outfit into a beautiful blue ball gown. They
sing a song. Cinderella can now go to the
ball, but she must come back by midnight.
After Cinderella’s transformation she makes
her way to the ball. She is very excited for the
night.
There is an interval. The lights in the theatre go bright. You can move around
and go to the café, or the bathroom.
12
ACT 2
Dandini’s band performs to the guests at the
ball. They sing a song.
Cinderella arrives at the ball. Buttons does
not recognise her, as she looks so different.
Cinderella asks Buttons to keep her
attendance at the ball a secret.
Buttons sees Rubella and Baron. Rubella says
she doesn’t want the Baron’s money, even
though she does. They sing a song.
Prince Charming tells Dandini about the
wonderful woman he met in town. He sings a
song.
13
Hernia and Verruca arrive, and Buttons tries
to keep the fact that Cinderella is at the ball
a secret. Hernia and Verruca sing a song.
Cinderella meets the Prince again at the
ball. They are instantly attracted to each
other. He doesn’t recognise her in her lovely
ball gown so she introduces herself as
Princess Stella. They sing a song. They dance
together at the ball.
When the clock strikes midnight, Cinderella
runs home but she leaves her glass slipper
behind. The Prince is sad about it and he
sings a song.
Prince Charming is shocked at Princess
Stella’s (Cinderella’s) speedy exit. He wants
to find her. They look for her everywhere, and
decide to send the Royal Messenger to
Finchley to look for her. They use the glass
slipper to try and identify her.
Hernia and Verruca try on the slipper but it
doesn’t fit because their feet are too big.
Buttons says that Cinderella is in the cellar
and she should try on the slipper. She tries it
on and it fits! Hallelujah!
14
At first Cinderella was unsure about marrying
Prince Charming, but he tries to change her
mind. Fairy G sings, the Prince apologies, and
she agrees to marry him!
Cinderella and Prince Charming marry in the
town hall.
They sing two songs.
We welcome all the characters back one last time. Please feel free to clap
and show your appreciation.
Thank you for coming.
