The movie set the record for the most frequent use of the word f**k in a feature film. The word was mentioned 569 times on a total runtime of 180 minutes, resulting in an average of 3.16 *f**ks per minute.

What is the significance of this scene?

Page 51: Cinema quiz - Aakash Vasa

Answer:

Han shot first.

In the original release of Star Wars: Episode IV, in the scene where Han Solo confronts Greedo, Han is the one who shoots Greedo and kills him. George Lucas was dissatisfied with the climax as he believed that it depicted Solo, the film’s protagonist as a ‘cold-blooded killer’. In a subsequent release of the movie in 1997, Lucas ensured that some SFX and a few extra frames and were inserted which made it seem like Greedo shoots first at Solo and misses, prompting Solo to return fire ‘in self-defense’, thus ensuring the moral slate of Han Solo is clean.

Star Wars loyalists do not accept Lucas’ retroactive edits, and maintain that it was Han who indeed shot Greedo first, in line with his anti-hero elements that were evident through the Original Trilogy.
