Summary This circular contains information on the nomination process for the upcoming Election Meeting for SLSCC.
Action Interested members are to submit their nomination to Tom Simpson [email protected] at the SLSCC Branch Office by 11 pm Monday 16th March 2020
This Circular is to advise members that the 2020-2021 Election Meeting of Surf Life Saving Central Coast (SLSCC) will be held on Thursday 16th April 2020 at the Branch Office commencing at 6.15pm. These important voluntary positions are vital for the successful running of the Central Coast Branch therefore we strongly encourage all members who may be interested in taking on one of these fulfilling roles to complete the nomination form as 2019-2020 will be an exciting year for Surf Life Saving Central Coast and interested members will most certainly have an integral part to play. Members who are interested in nominating for a position are asked to complete and submit the attached nomination form along with a brief half page biography outlining your qualifications and relevant experience relating to the position you are interested in to Tom Simpson – [email protected] by the closing date of 16th March 2020. Please note - All members must be financial for the duration of the position held. Please find attached the Surf Life Saving Central Coast Nomination Form for Office along with the Position Descriptions for each role. Clubs are asked to ensure dissemination to all members. Special Events
Coordinate SLSCC Surf Sports special events and personnel. Coordinate the development and conduct of special events annually to engage
members and the community audience. These include:
o Newcastle Permanent Iron person o Pool Challenge
Administration
Be a Manager for the BOSS. Be prepared to undertake additional programs and give advice or same when so
requested by the Director of Surf Sports. Advise the Board upon reports and recommendations received from officers,
appropriate staff, members and other forums, established from time to time to consider and recommend upon special event matters.
Attend BOSS meetings and provide monthly reports Be prepared to attend meetings, conferences and forums which are convened
and will affect upon special event development. Contribute to an annual review of the Board of Surf Sports

Approve annual club patrol hours in consultation with the Manager of Rescue Services
Ensure clubs prepare and implement effective Beach Management Plans Ensure effective management of Board of Lifesaving in all of its operations Prepare monthly reports for presentation to Directors and Council Meetings

Statement of Duties:
In consultation with Managers and appropriate staff, overview the Board of Life Saving Business Strategy Plan and update existing plans which shall be presented to the Directors for the promulgation to the council.
Ensure adherence to SLSCC Lifesaving budget Advise SLSCC upon reports and recommendations received from officers,
appropriate staff, members and other forums, established from time to time to consider and recommend upon life saving matters.
Act as chair person of conferences and forums, called together to consider life saving matters.
Act as chair person of BOLS meetings Attend BOLS meetings and advise, by standard reporting protocol, of strategic
recommendations relative to the management of the Life Saving Business Plan. Attend Board of Directors and SLSCC meetings. Be prepared to undertake programs to give advice when so requested by the
SLSCC, the president or the Chief Executive Officer. Be prepared to attend all council and other national, staff and board meetings,
conferences and forums which are convened and will affect upon lifesaving. Be a Director of Surf Life Saving Central Coast.
