Summary This circular contains information on the nomination process for the upcoming Election Meeting for SLSCC.

This Circular is to advise members that the 2020-2021 Election Meeting of Surf Life Saving Central Coast (SLSCC) will be held on Thursday 16th April 2020 at the Branch Office commencing at 6.15pm. These important voluntary positions are vital for the successful running of the Central Coast Branch therefore we strongly encourage all members who may be interested in taking on one of these fulfilling roles to complete the nomination form as 2019-2020 will be an exciting year for Surf Life Saving Central Coast and interested members will most certainly have an integral part to play. Administration

In consultation with Directors and appropriate staff, overview the Business and Development Strategy Plan and update existing plans which shall be presented to the Directors for the promulgation to the council.

Through the respective officers, appropriate staff and members, supervise and monitor activities throughout the Central Coast.

Attend Board of Directors and SLSCC meetings. Be prepared to attend all council and other national, staff and board

meetings, conferences and forums which are convened and will affect upon SLSCC.

Delegate to SLSNSW State Council Oversee the implementation of the Business Plan Conduct annual conference on future objectives with directors, SLSCC

council. Initiates visits to clubs. Monitors policy at NSW level. Liaises with Patron, Sponsors and Life Members Conducts CEO performance appraisal

Act as chair person of conferences and forums, called together to consider youth activities, such as but not limited to; member development, youth leadership, age managers, junior activities programming,inclusion, member protection and safeguarding.

Act as chair person of BOYA meetings. Attend BOYA meetings and advise, by standard reporting protocol, of strategic

Coordinate SLSCC Senior Surf Sports events and personnel. Coordinate the development and conduct of branch championship events

annually to recognise athletic excellence within the membership and engage the community audience.

Coordinate the development and implementation of new events to engage members and the community audience.

Assist SLSCC clubs to develop internal surf sports operations and so increase active membership via participation and performance of their life savers in district Surf Sports events.

Coaching Development & Recognition

Assist the provision of education / training opportunities for SLSCC Surf

Coaches as per the current Surf Sports Business Plan and KPI ‘s: • Host 2 level 1 Surf Coach Course • Ensure minimum 1 new level 1 Surf Coach per club • Host 1 level 2 Surf Coach Course • Ensure minimum 1 new level 2 Surf Coach per club • Ensure minimum of one level 3 Surf Coach course attendee from

SLSCC (if conducted) • Surf Coach performance monitoring strategy reviewed and re-

implemented • Ensure that 100% of active club Surf Coaches accredited

Youth Carnival Managers. Responsible for the recruitment and retention of Officials. Be a reference for the standard of Officiating at SLSCC Carnivals. Provide a detailed report on officials skill levels to carnival managers

Surf Official level 2/3 qualification preferred Recent and proven surf lifesaving officiating experience at district &/or national

Coordinate the delivery of the Surf Officials Accreditation Program within SLSCC to control the standard of education and practise of surf officials.

Coordinate the development and implementation of a Surf Official Reward Program to recognise and develop key and potential district surf officials.

continue to provide education and training opportunities for Surf Sports Officials as per the current Surf Sports Business Plan KPI’s:

o host 2 level 1 Surf Official Courses o ensure the minimum ratio of 1 official per 10 competitors

Statement of Duties:

In consultation with Managers and appropriate staff, overview the Board of Life Saving Business Strategy Plan and update existing plans which shall be presented to the Directors for the promulgation to the council.

Ensure adherence to SLSCC Lifesaving budget Advise SLSCC upon reports and recommendations received from officers,

appropriate staff, members and other forums, established from time to time to consider and recommend upon life saving matters.

Act as chair person of conferences and forums, called together to consider life saving matters.

Act as chair person of BOLS meetings Attend BOLS meetings and advise, by standard reporting protocol, of strategic

recommendations relative to the management of the Life Saving Business Plan. Attend Board of Directors and SLSCC meetings. Be prepared to undertake programs to give advice when so requested by the

SLSCC, the president or the Chief Executive Officer. Be prepared to attend all council and other national, staff and board meetings,

conferences and forums which are convened and will affect upon lifesaving. Be a Director of Surf Life Saving Central Coast.
