Before You Begin – Service AccountWhat is your service account?
Generally this is the same as your SCSM Data Access Service account
Open Services (Start Run services.msc) and find the System Center Data Access Service. Double click and select the Log On tab.
This account should be:
• Local admin on the server you are installing the Cireson Portal on
• SCSM Administrator – i.e. in the SCSM Administrators user role
• A dbo on the ServiceManager DB
Before You Begin – Security Groups• Who are your “analysts”?
• Who are you “knowledge managers”?
• Who are your “asset managers”?
Create an AD group for each of these that is in the same domain as the service account and put other groups or users in it.
If you are going to populate these groups with users or groups from other domains create a domain local group.
Group Permissions
Analysts See additional views in the portal – Team Work, Active Work, DashboardsSee additional tasks such as send email, assign to analystSee more advanced work item formsSee analyst KB contentCreate new work items from the New menu
Knowledge Managers Create, edit, delete knowledge base content

• Good for users that are connecting from non-Windows computers or using a browser other than IE or Chrome
• Good for connecting from mobile devices (use “Remember me”)
