Rack pack contains: Timing Chip Swimming cap Bike stickers Race bib Swimmer puts timing chip around ankle and has a swim cap Rider needs to attach the race number sticker to the seat post so that it is clearly visible. The helmet sticker must be put on their helmet clearly visible on the left hand side. Runner must have the race number bib attached to the front of their shirt (or on a race belt and positioned so that is clearly visible from the front). If you have a medical management plan, please make the official at Registration aware so your race number can be noted.

Tagging Process:

Swimmer: o Swimmer to exit the lake at the boat ramp.o Keep to the left hand path through the trees and run up the left hand side of the

road.o Run to your cyclist at their bike.o Tag the cyclisto Remain at the rack, holding the bar, where your cyclist was racked.o When officials allow your team runner into the transition compound, transfer the

timing chip to the runner.o Leave the transition compound following the directions of officials.

Rider:o When directed to enter the transition compound by officials, stand next to your

bike.o You may have shoes and helmets on.o When your swimmer arrives at your bike and tags you, unrack your bike and run or

walk your bike to the transition exit.o Mount your bike after the indicated mount line. o Complete the designated number of laps on the bike:

Juniors 2 laps, Intermediates and Seniors 3 laps.

o On your final lap, keep to the left as you approach the transition compoundo Dismount before the mount line.o Walk or run your bike to the rack position that you started from.o Tag your runner, who may then head to the run exit and commence their run.o Remain at your bike until directed to leave the compound by race officials.

Runner:o Remain outside the transition compound until directed by race officials to enter the

compound.o Upon entering the transition compound, locate your team swimmer and change the

timing chip from the swimmer’s ankle to yours.o Remain at eh bike rack in the position that your team cyclist’s bike was racked.o When tagged by your team cyclist, head to the run exit and complete the run leg. o When you finish ensure that you return the timing chip to the collection basket at

the finish line.

Important Information:

Amenities: Toilets and change rooms are available at the back of the grandstand and adjacent to the rowing sheds to the east of the grandstand.

Parking: Parking will be on the southern side of the lake. You will have to walk from the parking to the island where registration is located. Allow 15minutes to walk from the parking to the island.

Transition: Only cyclists permitted in transition prior to race start. Helmets: Please ensure that helmets meet Australian Safety Regulations, are in good

condition and fitted correctly:o Helmet should be levelo Chin strap should be comfortably tight and not twisted

Drafting: Cyclists are not permitted to draft. Rules for drafting are listed here:o In brief, cyclists must remain 7 metres from the rear wheel of a bike in front of themo Cyclists are not permitted to ride side by sideo Once a cyclist moves within 7 metres of the bike in front, they have 15 seconds to

pass the bike.o If a cyclist passes you, you must drop back 7 metres from the passing cyclist before

you can attempt to repass. Officials: Ensure that you follow the instructions of all course officials. Results: results will be available at www.multisportaustralia.com.au

Race times will be adhered to as closely as possible, however, there may be variations in start times to ensure all events can be safely conducted.

Presentations to take place after Relay Races.

During the Relay races, there will be cut off times put in place. If swimmers are not out of the water by the cut-off time, the team cyclist will be sent off. If a cyclist has not finished by the cut-off time, they will be stopped at transition at the end of whichever lap they are on and their runner will be sent off. This is to ensure that all races can be run safely and the event can follow as closely as possible to advertised times. Cut off times will be at the discretion of the event organisers.
