INTRODUCTION

The influx of immigrants in Malaysia brings a fair share of advantages and disadvantages. Malaysian are now feeling the impact of this influx and as Saravanan (2009) puts it we are at risk of being eliminated. .The influx of immigrants contribute to lower the labour cost in manufacturing sector as well as increasing our consumer market size. It is a common knowledge that foreign workers are paid lesser than the locals. This is a competitive edge for Malaysia because it means that the product that we manufacture is cheaper than other countries. At the same time, these immigrants also have to spend money to buy goods such as food or daily necessities and pay for services such as public transportation. This help our local business to grow as a result of bigger market size which constituted by the locals and the immigrants

INSERTING CITATIONThe influx of immigrants contribute to lower the labour cost in manufacturing sector as well as increasing our consumer market size. It is a common knowledge that foreign workers are paid lesser than the locals. This is a competitive edge for Malaysia because it means that the product that we manufacture is cheaper than other countries (Muzaffar, 2010). At the same time, these immigrants also have to spend money to buy goods such as food or daily necessities and pay for services such as public transportation. A recent study by Jasmani (2013) found evidence that this spending help our local business to grow as a result of bigger market size which constituted by the locals and the immigrants.
