Cite Them Right Online: the referencing guide for Middlesex University, Dubai
In order to ensure uniformity, students and faculty at Middlesex University are expected to use Cite
Them Right Online (CTRO), a comprehensive referencing guide, for all the different types of referencing
styles used across the various Programmes; for instance, all Psychology students are expected to use the
APA style, all Law students use OSCOLA, while Harvard style is used by students in all the other
Programmes. Below are some instructions to get you started.
Step 1: Logging in
Type in the required URL: https://www.citethemrightonline.com
Click on the ‘Login’ button.
Type in Middlesex University and select it.
This will take you to your Unihub page. Type in your Unihub details and enter. You will now be
reverted back to the CTRO website and should now be able to see this message:
Step 2: Navigating the website
Use the options on top to identify the type of source you are using
If you cannot find a specific resource, use the search button.
Click the option you want to choose and check how the reference is formatted.
Always make sure that you have chosen the correct style of referencing as per your Programme
requirements.
Step 3: Creating a reference
CTRO gives you the option of creating and saving a reference, which can be saved or e-mailed to
a given address.
