1. Teacher will ask essential question: Why should we show good citizenship? Discuss students responses.

2. Click on thinking cap to watch short video.

3. Students may work with a partner or as a whole class to define the vocabulary words using the online dictionary. They will complete a vocabulary graphic organizer for each word.

1. Teacher will ask essential question: Are they good citizens? Why or why not? Explain your thinking. What would happen if people didn’t show acts of good citizenship?

2. Students will turn to their partner and discuss the reason why or why not each image shows acts of good citizenship.

3. Students will work independently to complete the double bubble map graphic organizer. They will make a judgment whether the images provided represent good or poor citizenship, glue them in the appropriate section and explain their reasoning underneath each picture.
