    Refer to templates starting on p. 6 to cut applique shapes from Fabrics M-R. Trace templates onto paper side of fusible web. Cut out each shape approximately 1/4” past drawn lines. Fuse to indicated fabric and cut out on drawn lines.

    Make the Pieced Background 1. Referring to the Piecing Chart below and Pieced Background Diagram on p. 4, lay out the various 2-1/2” x 14-1/2“, 2-1/2” x 9-1/2“, and 2-1/2” x 6-1/2“ pieces into vertical rows. Sew the pieces into rows, each measuring 58-1/2” long.

    2. Sew the eighteen pieced rows and ten 1-1/2” x 58-1/2” L strips together lengthwise as shown in the Pieced Background Diagram on p. 4.

    Adding the Applique 1. Referring to the Applique Placement Guide on p. 6, build each �ower applique on a pressing cloth, leaving the paper on the back of the bottom piece of each �ower. Fuse the layers in place following manufacturer’s directions. 2. Referring to the Quilt Layout Diagram on p. 5, fuse the layered �owers and stems onto the pieced background. 3. Secure all applique pieces with a zig zag or decorative stitch.

    Assembling the Quilt Sew the six 2-1/2” x WOF A strips short ends together into a long strip. Cut two 58-1/2” lengths and two 50-1/2” lengths. Sew the longer strips to the sides of the quilt and the remaining strips to the top and bottom.

    FinishingLay the backing right side down, batting, and quilttop right side up. Baste the layers together andquilt as desired. Use the six 2-1/4” x WOF M stripsto bind the quilt.
