CARNIVAL INFORMATION
The New Year in Geelong is a great time to visit, with beaches, wineries and natural attractions offering much to the visitor. The pennant break also provides the opportunity for an extended bowls event.
Through generous sponsorships of Geelong businesses and support from Club members, the Geelong Bowls Club will conduct the fourth “City By The Bay” Bowls Carnival over four consecutive days, January 2nd to January 5th 2014.
The Carnival will comprise four events, with players competing for cash prizes of $4,000.
EVENTS : The regular opening event is the Open Pairs on Thursday, January 2nd. Four games, 4 bowls of 9 ends, cross over pairs.
The traditional Open Fours is on Friday, January 3rd. four games, 12 ends, 2 bowls.
Third event is the Women’s Open Pairs on Saturday, January 4th. Three games of 10 ends, the first game, 4 bowls cross over, the second game, 4 bowls 2-4-2, the third game, 3 bowls.
We conclude with the half day Mixed Two Bowl Triples, on Sunday, January 5,th any combination. Three games of 10 ends, 2 bowls.
All full day events includes morning tea on arrival , an excellent two course lunch & light snacks at the en d of play. Afternoon tea served following the Mixed Trip les.
PRIZES : Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each event with additional money for best scores in each game. No team can win more than one prize in a single event.
ENTRIES : Both single & team entries are welcome. Entry fees are listed on both the detachable ENTRY form and CARNIVAL program.
