These Rules apply only to official City Champs play and not to other competitions, tournaments or organized play of Minecraft (“MC” or the “game”).

Super League Gaming, a Delaware limited liability company, has established these Rules for the competitive play of Minecraft in order to unify and standardize the rules used in City Champs competitive play.

4.2 Phase Details

4.2.1 Qualifying Phase Each Qualifier Event will consist of 7 games (Mayhem, Domination, Workshop, Walls, Soccer, Zombies, and Crystal Crater). In the Mayhem, players will compete as individuals in a free-for-all. Based on the results of Mayhem, players will be sorted into teams for the remaining games in a snake-draft fashion to ensure team balancing. Teams will be re-sorted after each game, based on each player’s individual performance within their team. Over the course of the 4 weeks of Qualifier Events, each City will maintain a leaderboard of everyone who has competed in a qualifier in that City. Players’ rankings on this leaderboard are determined by their top 2 individual event scores.

4.2.1 Ranking Phase After the 4th week of Qualifiers, the top players on a City’s Leaderboard will be invited to represent that City in the Champs phase. If any players reject this offer, the next highest ranked person will be offered their spot. The top players from City Clashers and Online Only will form the Cloud Clashers team.

4.2.2 City v. City Phase The main competition sees Cities competing against other Cities to be the best in their division and make it to the Grand Final. This portion of the tournament takes place over the course of 3 weekly events.

4.2.2.1 Divisions There are 12 total cities, which are split into 4 Divisions as follows:

Division 1 Division 2 Division 3 Division 4

Los Angeles San Francisco

Phoenix

Boston New York

Miami

Seattle Las Vegas

Denver

Houston Dallas

Chicago

4.2.2.2 Tiers & Event Setup

Each City has 12 teams of 5 players each. These teams are ranked A-L within their city based on their players’ performance in the Qualifier. The 12 teams are divided amongst 4 Tiers. Each game instance will be populated by a tier, so Game Instance 1 will have the Tier 1 teams from each city in the division.

Each event consists of seven games. At the end of the event, each team is given a rank based on their score in their own game instance (1-12). Their rank within their instance also determines how many Victory Points (VP) they earn for their city.

4.2.2.3 Victory Points

10

Each team earns Victory Points for their city based on their in-game performance. At the end of each event, teams earn 12 VP for coming in 1st in their instance, 11 for coming in 2nd, and so on until 12th place gets 1 VP. At the end of the final event, each city’s teams are ranked 1-12 by their total number of VP earned, and the city in each division with the highest aggregate VP total will go on to represent their division in the Grand Final.

The rotation order for Invaded Divisions would be chosen randomly, or based on average Player Score in the qualifiers (strongest Division gets invaded first).

In the Grand Final, any players on the internet based team (“Cloud Crashers”) will not be eligible to compete; instead the members of each team are awarded prizes (TBD) based on how many Victory Points they earned in the Main Competition. Each city has 12 teams of 5 players each. These teams are ranked A-L within their city based on their players’ performance in the Qualifier (same teams as during the other Champs events). The 12 teams are divided amongst 4 Tiers. Each Tier has 3 teams in it per city, resulting in 12 teams per Tier across the four Finalist Cities. Each of these Tiers has its own instance. All instances will have 12 Teams participating.

4.2.3 City Champs: Minecraft Grand Finals Phase The Grand Final event consists of seven 15-minute games. At the end of the event, each team wins Victory Points for their City based on their ranking within the event (1-12) and their tier.
